Just the distorted guitars and lyrics.  Its a lot heavier than Eisley normally is.  Just a joke.  RELAX MAN TAKE A  :hat

I cannot remember Combinations for the life of me. I listened to Room Noises yesterday and I smacked myself for not listening again sooner.

Really like the new song.

I listened to Combinations on the way to school.  No bad songs, but few memorable ones.  Need to listen some more to see if it clicks for me the way room Noises did.

That does it.

As much as I love Combinations, it's now perfectly clear that The Valley is going to completely kick its ass.

It's a great album, at this stage I would say that it is on par with room noises.

As for the new songs, ambulance could just about be my favourite Eisley song. Smarter sounds good too but I don't think it's one of their best.

I found a used copy of the Laughing City EP yesterday and just gave it a spin. A random collections of thoughts:

It made me realize how happy I am with their production nowadays. The versions of I Wasn't Prepared and Telescope Eyes sounds like demos compared to what appeared on Room Noises.

Holy fuck distorted guitar. They didn't save it for special occasions back then, it's in every song!

I really like the three B-sides on the album, Tree Tops, Over the Mountain, and Laughing City. I'm glad I picked this up just for them.

Me: "How?"
Cole: "Well you know when you try to scratch your balls, and you scratch too hard?
I'll admit sometimes I want to listen to Dragonforce.

After hearing all the talk about this band here, I'm going to try them later today.

They pretty much stole my middle name for their band name, so they better be good.

Our hype has not taken full effect until you begin listening to Room Noises 10 times every day and you've built a shrine to it in your closet.

I don't think I've regularly listened to Room Noises since 2006. I don't know why.

The timing is rarely right. That's it.

Also, it stopped being indie in 06 when someone else heard of them.

I have EP2 but not Laughing City so I'm not sure if the versions are the same, but I love the old arrangement of Telescope Eyes with the distorted guitars.

Blackened Crown is also one of my favorite songs of theirs.

Pre-orders now available: https://equalvision.merchnow.com/

It's weird that the lithograph isn't also signed by Garron and Weston. I mean, I know they have penises but they are in the band too.

Yeah that's kinda lame, though they suffer from being the non-female, non-singing, rhythm section of a band that has basically no focus on the bass or drums at all.

I would have ordered the CD and a Lithograph if there was an option for it. I don't listen to vinyl, so I don't really want to pay that much more just to get the parts I do want. I got the CD though, so I'm happy.

Agreed. I have access to a turntable almost none of the time, and even when I do it's total shit and doesn't have a good sound system to hook into. Totally useless.

I asked about the Garron and Weston signature thing on their status update and my comment has gotten a few likes already, so clearly we're not the only ones who think it weird.

Nathan: The Litho will be signed by everyone... like, real signatures. The art was created by the girls... so we added their sig's on the print so you'd know who drew/painted what. :)

Ah, my mistake. Nice of them to clarify though.

As cruel as it sounds, I don't care about Garron...at all. They could lose him and not have a bass player at all, and I wouldn't give half a fuck.

What? There are some pretty nice bass parts. Nothing uber technical or in your face, but I think you would notice if the bass was actually taken out.

wot

I only know Room Noises (heard Combinations once), but the bass definitely enhances the music, and fills it out nicely on the bottom end of the scale (their songs seem to tend to higher registers, which the bass complements nicely).
