Fantastic. I am whatever when it comes to listening to my KX studio CDs, but the live stuff comes off the shelf quite often. This will be a very nice addition to the collection...

I'll probably buy this despite only owning three albums.  They sound like they would be great to see live.

Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

:zombie:

So...looks like they are hitting the road the end of next month.  Lots of TX and West Coast dates.  Not much else posted yet, but their website says more dates are coming soon.  https://www.kingsxrocks.com/5tour.html

As much as I have cut back the concert budget this year, they are playing about 15 minutes from my house on a Friday night and the cover charge is $20.  This may be as close to a no-brainer as it gets.

Hopefully they'll add something in Western PA/Eastern OH. They usually do, and if so, I'm there.

Glad to see them with a new album and tour.  Can't wait to see the east coast dates.

Well, new tour, yes.  But new album, no.  According to the press release, this tour is to support XV, which was released in 2008 and Live In London, which was released in 2010.  Seems a bit silly to claim to be supporting either of those, but hey, at least they're touring.  :lol

i really hope the come to scotland!!
The creation and destruction of harmonic and 'statistical' tensions is essential to the maintenance of compositional drama. Any composition (or improvisation) which remains consonant and 'regular' throughout is, for me, equivalent to watching a movie with only 'good guys' in it, or eating cottage cheese.

They are recording right now so I'd guess that it will come out after the tour.  The band has to make money and it's not from album sales.

I really love these guys, but it's time for a new album. Riding the very small wave of a mediocre album for 4 years is beneath them. The best live band ever though, so no harm in touring. I'm just ready for an inspired, non thrown-together album in the vein of Gretchen or Dogman.
No light at the end of the tunnel due to budget contraints

So, I made a "1 disk" King's X playlist earlier this morning.  Here is my sort of "best of" 70-something minutes of King's X list.  Note that it does NOT have material from every album, and there are definitely a couple of albums that dominate.  But these are generally the songs that get stuck in my head that make me want to listen to this band.  Feel free to post your own or comment on mine.

1.  Groove Machine
2.  Bebop
3.  Over My Head
4.  Black Like Sunday
5.  Everybody Knows A Little Bit Of Something
6.  Rock Pile
7.  Dogman
8.  Summerland
9.  Fish Bowl Man
10.  Johnny
11.  Pleiades
12.  Charlie Sheen
13.  Fade
14.  Julie
15.  Mission
16.  Go Tell Somebody
17.  Happy
18.  Looking For Love
19.  We Were Born To Be Loved

I just love Fish Bowl Man and Summerland.  I need to make a playlist on my I-pod for them.
