Again?  Goodness me.

No. No you can't. Because he was banned.

Why?

I had a look through his posts, and they look awfully SeRoXeY.  Though I could be wrong and don't really wanna push it any further in case I myself receive the hammer of bant.

@OP:  Welcome, friend.  I love you.

Wow, very perceptive of you! He has been trying to create duplicate accounts (repeatedly) and doesn't seem to understand the concept of a ban.

@sneakyblueberry: I appreciate your outpouring of love for me, but... well, I don't love you. sorry.  my wife would kill me :P

And it's nice to see the multiple account dillholes are on EVERY FORUM EVERYWHERE!!! :)  We have one on the college football forum I follow that has no less than 8 and the great thing is he has completely differing opinions for each one.  Always makes for good entertainment at least.

And oh yeah, Winger rocks... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1knO1Ip9oEg

I mean, it just doesn't get any more metal than that perfectly manicured 5 o'clock shadow, does it?  :D

I actually have two teenage students that are into Paul Gilbert and that is a good thing :)

An amazingly good thing.  Your students have excellent taste.

I feel compelled to say once again that, as of three years ago, one of Paul's solos became my all-time favorite guitar solo.  Pretty impressive, given that he bumped Alex Skolnick, Dave Meniketti, and John Petrucci to climb into the top spot.

Yeah, but the problem is, the rest of them love Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift!  Boy, can I show you how to play "Love Story" like a freakin' champ! :)

At HMV I asked the kid at the front counter if they had Winger in the back maybe..................................(him)"Is that the name of the CD or the band?"..............(me)"how old are you, you little cock...get the fuck over here" (took a swipe tried to grab him)....LOL...

Yeah.  I can't remember--have you heard it?  For some reason, I have in my mind that you don't have any of Neal's stuff.  Anyway, you know, I like a lot of more upbeat, shreddy solos too.  But my top two are very slow, melodic, soaring solos that just rip it up over softer melodies (Paul's and then Skolnick's on Return to Serenity).

Oh, and Goldy, if you and Sneak ever change your mind and decide to consummate your relationship, I'm happy to perform a meaningless Internet ceremony for the both of you by the notpower vested in me as forum admin.

In all seriousness, I've heard that Winger's new album Karma is fantastic.

I have none.  All I know of NM, I know from Yellow Matter Custard.  I'll see if by some chance this is on YouTube somewhere, so I can hear this solo.  In the meantime, one of my favorites from PG, complete with a riffs and a solo that could turn your brain to mush:

The organ intro is especially awesome with headphones on.

I just did a quick search and couldn't find the whole piece.  There are some live clips, but it ain't Paul, so it ain't worth listening.  Here's a short clip with a few second leading into the solo, the solo itself, and then a few seconds afterward.  Still awesome, but it does lose just a BIT of impact without the context of the whole piece.  Anyway, I'm sure you'll still enjoy feasting your ears on it.  Here you go:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B7xF6wQ9dzM

Funny thing is, it's definitely NOT the cleanest solo I've ever heard.  But that's part of its appeal to me.  Even though I know every note of it and every phrasing of every note, every time I listen, part of me is like, "He's playing so on the edge, he could just lose control of this thing any second now.  And I know exactly what he's building to, and there's no way he's going to hit it...is there?  IS THERE?"  :lol  Silly description, I know, but that's the best way I can put it.  It's technical, and yet also so emotionally driven and raw that it doesn't just sound overly cerebral and lifeless.  Just a perfect solo.  Anyway, I'll spare you any more rambling.  Obviously, me likey teh solo.

Wow.

That's pretty f*cking badass.  Usually his solos have him written all over them 100% (meaning I could tell a Paul Gilbert solo without actually knowing beforehand that it was him).  This one is that way in places, but not entirely.  Very, very nice.

While I was looking around earlier, I stumbled across a cover of the Osmonds' Crazy Horses - Paul with MP from the bonus disc with Neal Morse's Lifeline.  Really freakin' cool.  Clip it if not cool to post:

I would, but I think we need a bit more awesome in this thread to counter the Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift references.
