I just did a quick search and couldn't find the whole piece. There are some live clips, but it ain't Paul, so it ain't worth listening. Here's a short clip with a few second leading into the solo, the solo itself, and then a few seconds afterward. Still awesome, but it does lose just a BIT of impact without the context of the whole piece. Anyway, I'm sure you'll still enjoy feasting your ears on it. Here you go:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B7xF6wQ9dzM Funny thing is, it's definitely NOT the
cleanest solo I've ever heard. But that's part of its appeal to me. Even though I know every note of it and every phrasing of every note, every time I listen, part of me is like, "He's playing so on the edge, he could just lose control of this thing any second now. And I know exactly what he's building to, and there's no way he's going to hit it...is there? IS THERE?"
Silly description, I know, but that's the best way I can put it. It's technical, and yet also so emotionally driven and raw that it doesn't just sound overly cerebral and lifeless. Just a perfect solo. Anyway, I'll spare you any more rambling. Obviously, me likey teh solo.
