Drum recording question
« on: August 20, 2010, 04:31:03 PM »
Can you get a drum mic kit where all the microphones will record into a single analog chord?  I'm looking for a way to record drums without needing multiple inputs on my interface....

I suppose you could plug all the mics into a mixer and use the mixer's stereo out straight into your interface.

Yea, what Fuzzboy said. That's the only way to do it. I do it with Ocotobons (or did) since I didn't need to mix all 4 individually.

Yeah, that seems like the only way to do it.  The only drawback is that you won't be able to do all sorts of cool panning because it'll all be going onto one track.

You could if you did the panning on the mixer and then used the mixer's STEREO out into the interface.

Yea, but you'd most likely need two inputs for that, and he said one.

I was under the impression he meant one output.

He clearly states that he doesn't want to use multiple inputs.
