Teargas & Plateglass - Imagine Godspeed You Black Emperor! if they were a trip hop band.

I like. :tup
Cole: "Ow I just got hit in the balls"
Me: "How?"
Cole: "Well you know when you try to scratch your balls, and you scratch too hard?
I'll admit sometimes I want to listen to Dragonforce.

It's one of the greatest albums I've ever heard.

Can someone recommend me some good trip hop albums in that vain? The triphop tag on LastFM is good enough, but I'd like some whole albums.

Ulver aren't really trip-hop tbh  :-\

Massive Attack are clearly the ultimate trip-hop band. First 3 albums are IMMENSE.

I'd definitely say Perdition City was trip hop, at least at times

And yeah I do like Massive Attack a lot, but sometimes the vocals annoy me.

Yeah I'd say they definitely have trip-hop influences but that's different from being a trip-hop band! Sorry, just me being picky I guess  :lol

Poets of the Fall - an alternative/maybe pop-rock (pretty broad way of putting it) band from Finland that's really fun and interesting to listen to. Their latest album strays from the whole mainstream sound thing and is more cinematic, epic, and slightly more proggy.

If you played Max Payne 2, you might remember the song Late Goodbye because a bunch of characters would whistle it or hum it, and there's even a part where the cleaners are playing it on a piano  :lol. Anyways, here it is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=atKv1JyQgV8

This song, Carnival of Rust, was voted the best Finnish music video of all time (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MKk1u5RMTn4). Don't mind the similar intro. Total coincidence.

I recommended Perdition City to him because it's similar in feel to Teargas and Plateglass, not because it's trip hop.

On that note though, Mezzanine is the best trip hop album OF ALL TIME

I'm on another new music binge, some highlights:

Bossk - Our fearless admin does post rock/metal. (:neverusethis:) REALLY good. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Sr7hI6vQDA

Those Poor Bastards - 'gothic country' Probably the dirtiest country I've ever heard, at times the vocals actually border on black metalish screams. If you say 'lol i hate country derp derp' without listening to it I will rip your penis off and skullfuck you with it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sx0_0BbsBlE&feature=related

Arts the Beatdoctor - Primarily instrumental hip-hop/trip hop, really diverse music. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EuV-dqKZaic

I'm looking for a good melodeath band, any suggestions? (Other then Children of Bodom by the way.)

DETHKLOK

FUCK YES.

Sigz, I'm checking out Bossk now because Russian Circles reminded me of how awesome post-metal is, and I like bands that take their names from Star Wars.  Like Eisley!
