Round 5 Results

Marvellous G
Bob Dylan - "Tangled Up In Blue"
Wager: 13
About what I'd expect from Dylan. I'd probably only listen to it once in awhile but it wasn't bad. I'll give this one a nod.

Sigz
The Birthday Massacre - "Red Stars"
Wager: 8
Hard to judge since I don't really listen to this type of music. Some of the guitar work was cool even though it was basic. Overall I don't think it's my cup of tea.

Volk9
Miles Davis - "Blue In Green"
Wager: 12
What an awesome laid back song. This is the kind of jazz I need to get more of.

Portrucci
Thrice - "Blood Clots and Black Holes"
Wager: 10
You caught me at just the right time as I'm really digging Thrice. Didn't catch me as much as their other stuff but I definitely liked it.

dreamtheatervt
Bigelf - "Blackball"
Wager: 11
My biggest problem with Bigelf is the "guess that band" riff game I can play with nearly every one of their songs. That being said this song definitely encompasses everything I expect of the band and do enjoy it, especially that Pink Floyd inspired instrumental section.

hefdaddy42
Heart - "Black On Black"
Wager: 9
Heart's very hit or miss from me. That being said I really loved the energy behind this song despite how 80s it sounds. It's got that "Barracuda" triplet rhythm which helped drive it. Maybe a little too synthy but overall I liked it.

Points Total
5th Place: Sigz with 10 points
4th Place: dreamtheatervt with 22 points
3rd Place: Portrucci and Volk9 with 24 points
2nd Place: Marvellous G with 26 points

Winner:

hefdaddy with 29 points! Congratulations. Sigz is up next.

 :lol

I felt bad when I saw the final total and remembered you were up next. I kept thinking "Aww shit he's gonna fuck me good when I get suggesting the next game".

I'd suggest making a new thread for your game since I hate the "hijacking" of current threads like the Top 50 that's going on with the DT songs. I feel it's easier to check on as well if I see new posts in the "Sigz Song Roulette" thread instead of a "Orcus' Song Roulette - A Music Contest (Now up: Sigz)" thread.

Aww shit he's gonna fuck me good

Well yeah, but that's just because you're sexy.

And yeah, I figured I'd make a separate thread.

That was fun.
Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

For anyone else...if you want progressive rock/metal choices, I'm probably an ideal choice as I have lots of obscure (and good) stuff.  If you want stuff outside that, I'm spotty at best.

Glad to see my wager sort of paid off. As you liked Volk's Miles Davis recommendation so much (as do I), you owe it to yourself to get/check out Kind of Blue, it's in my top albums of all time and probably the best jazz album I've ever heard.
