I like it, though not as much as SI. The middle of IR is a bit samey to me, though it's bookended by some really good tracks.  I will say, the ballads on IR are really good and much better than "Coming Home" on SI, which due to the style of the other tracks and its placement on the album, always felt like an afterthought. On IR, they're incorporated much better.

I agree with that, although I haven't heard SI yet.

I'm honestly a bit disappointed, and I almost never feel like playing the album :-\
It's still really good, but maybe I expected it to be something else.

After a bit more listening I can say I like IR more than SI, because the latter can get a bit samey at times and there are a few songs I don't care about, but IR feels more diverse, has less filler and the songs are even catchier.

To get back on topic, another 2-3 listens haven't changed my opinion much. I'll probably leave this album be for a while and then listen again in a few weeks.

You should really get SI.  At this point, it is my favorite, but that could change down the road however unlikely.

I think IR is pretty good after about 5 listens, but it seems less heavy than SI.  Both albums are good in their own right, but I tend to favor the heavier side.

After a gazillion times with the album, although I absolutely love most of the tracks, I haven't really gotten into Say You're Still Mine, Destined To Burn, and the two bonus tracks haven't really done it for me either. Not bad songs by any means, but forgettable when aside gems like Holding On, Amnesia, Letting Go and I Will Not Break.

Thus far, I can safely say that Over The Edge is still my favorite Labrie-band song. While overall I enjoy IR over SI by a bit simply because of Amnesia and Holding On, my two favorite tracks on IR that have about 97 and 122 plays respectively, according to iTunes.  :lol Can't get enough.

Yeah, I thought the "g" might be silent instead of the "S".  But, then again who knows for sure?

I do. :D Nothing is ever really silent in Italian, not even the "p" in psicologo (psychologist). As for my namesake's surname:

The "gl" followed by either i or e is sort of like the double L in Spanish and French.

So, it rhymes with "holy."  That means, when I'm blown away by a Marco solo, I can shout: "Holy Sfogli!!!"

It doesn't really rhyme, unfortunately. :/ It should have been Sfoli to rhyme.

Anyway, a musical statement: Marco is awesome.

What the hell did you put in the recordings, Matt? :lol

Nicotine
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces
