I've already heard the song, and I know it's just a lyric video, but I've been waiting to get out of work so I can enjoy it as well.

Am I the only one who cannot listen to it right now? I'm at work  :(

Same here, all streaming sites are blocked.

Where are people hearing samples? I didn't see them on iTunes.

I heard the samples on iTunes, there's a link in this thread, not sure in what page...but there's a link to extended samples.

Fucking love it. This was even one of the few tracks that didn't really stand out to me from the samples, but I dig it.

Love the new song!  Great stuff.  I gotta say, if JLB isn't writing the music then I personally feel like he should be writing ALL of the album's lyrics at least, since the project is in his name.  If he's not doing that, the project shouldn't be called "James LaBrie."  It should have another name.   Just my opinion.

"James LaBrie" is just the name of the band that has James LaBrie as a singer.  They could have called it "The James LaBrie Band", or, if it were still the 80s/90s, just "LaBrie".

Ozzy Osbourne doesn't do much, if any, writing on his albums, but they all sound like "Ozzy Osbourne records".

Love this song.  It actually reminds me of something that could have been on Danger Danger's last album, very melodic rock.

I don't think James is aware of the band Amaranthe. I have both of their records though. Great stuff!

I dislike Amaranthe but I gotta give 'em a congrats for finding a formula for instant success :lol

Oh god some of these comments on youtube  ;D especially the dudes who didn't get the memo that MM doesn't play on JLB's side projects anymore.

The song is so damn catchy. I should be going to sleep but instead I'm here glued to it. Dammit :lol

Excellent points.   Ya know, I never even thought of calling it just "LaBrie".  They shoulda done that.  Oh well....hindsight.  All that matters is the new single kicks ass.

I'm amazed by this new song.

James is in a higher level again...can't believe it! And Matt's voice really fits with his...the song is really really catchy, can't stop playing it.

Looking forward to the whole album!

The longer Itunes samples are up: https://itunes.apple.com/au/album/impermanent-resonance/id669067749
Here it is!
It's worth noting that the iTunes samples are only longer (1:30) if you play them in iTunes. On the webpage they're only the regular 30 second clips. I actually think that might be why there wasn't much discussion about them at all after I posted the link.

People excited about the album that don't have iTunes will probably want to install it for at least one listen of these extended clips. They are 100x better than the 30 second clips. You have no idea. Definitely worth the couple of minutes to install iTunes and then uninstall.

Nope, not even this is worth raping my system with iTunes for. :lol
I'm just going to wait it out now. 30 second clips were enough to get me very interested, so I'm just going to hold out until I get the full album, and listen to it fresh. :tup

Also, the backing vocals (Matt?) are great too.

I'm digging this new song more than Agony. This is what I was expecting from the new JLB record, a simple-yet-catchy tune reminiscent of the Mullmuzzler 2/Elements of Persuassion days. As a keyboardist, I'm extremely influenced by Matt's use of electronic sounds in metal and I couldn't agree more that JLB hasn't sounded so modern ever. Not because of the synth-y elements, but the approach JLB took into signing the tune and how incredible it blends with Matt's harmonies. I don't think Mike Portnoy's or even John Petrucci's voice had such a nice cohesion with James LaBrie's voice, and it's incredible to see this happen now. Great job, Matt. I can't wait to hear the whole thing.

I know this has been said already in the thread, but I wanted to chime in to say that I absolutely love this song. Very pop-metal; like someone else said it really reminded me of Amaranthe haha. James' vocal performance is STELLAR and it just sounds amazing all around. Can't wait for this record now  :metal
