I've tried Static Impulse for the first time today, and I really thought it sounded a lot like Soilwork. It sounded pretty rockin', but I find it difficult to sit through the entire album.
Not 'Down To F***', but 'Dream Theater Forums' .

The youtube link has a download to the track, no need to get it via iTunes.

So is that version of the album up on cmdistro the deluxe/collector's/special/omgmoremoneyz edition? The blurb on the page is gloriously unhelpful and I can't find a link to it anywhere on da webs.

Huzzah.

Have this waiting for me when I get home. I know a lot of you are excited about this album and so I promise to get off my lazy ass as much as possible in order to finish my Queensryche review and move onto this album. :)

I'm a bit late to the party but I never got the opportunity to properly listen to the track since I have been on vacation and only have a laptop.  I wasn't digging it to be honest.  I mean, I liked it decent enough and was still looking forward to the album but that was it.

I'm finally home and got to listen to it in my car and gawddamn....so much better when you listen to it LOUD with all of the intricacies.  Now I'm pumped (again) for the album.

Another press release - a tour, perhaps? I know there would be no European dates, but it would still be great if you guys found enough time for live shows.

I know there would be no European dates

But that would be extremely cool and half of the band comes from Europe anyway.
Must've been Kwyji sending all the wrong songs.   ;D

Sorry folks. I thought they would have a link up by now. It will probably be up shortly, but in the meantime, I'll paste it here:

JAMES LABRIE – New album formats revealed; Video of drum recordings and pre-order links launched!

Dream Theater’s James LaBrie is back with a powerful new studio album effort entitled
“Impermanent Resonance”, to be released on July 29th, 2013 in Europe

The standard album’s tracklisting will be the following:

James LaBrie – “Impermanent Resonance”
1. Agony
2. Undertow
3. Slight Of Hand
4. Back On The Ground
5. I Got You
6. Holding On
7. Lost In The Fire
8. Letting Go
9. Destined To Burn
10. Say You're Still Mine
11. Amnesia

Next to the standard CD and the Digital Download format, “Impermanent Resonance” will also be available in Europe as limited edition Digipak featuring alternate artwork and two bonus tracks (“Unraveling” and “Why”)
as well as on limited LP version (with the full album as bonus CD).
The previous James LaBrie album, “Static Impulse” from 2010, will also be released for the first time as LP (with the full album as bonus CD) on the same street date of the new album.
Both LP’s will be available on 180gr. black vinyl but also on strictly limited clear vinyl (only 200x copies each!).

Furthermore, former Soilwork guitarist Peter Wichers was also added to the fold for songwriting and guitar recording contributions.

A video from Peter Wildoer’s drum recordings for “Impermanent Resonance”
at Sweden’s Fascination Street recordings studios can now be seen here:
