I couldn't be more excited for this album!  I LOVED EoP, and didn't know what to think when I first heard SI.  The growls/screams grew on me, and now it's a regularly played album.  Because I grew to love the screams, I've even since gotten into other bands with screams (currently loving Killswitch Engage, for example).  In any case, I LOVE the new song.  If it's an indication of the quality of the album, then I think I will love it.

Finally listened to Agony and I love it.  I don't think its anything groundbreaking, but a really solid song.  The chorus is really amazing.  Its what I like about the screams.  It really makes JLB sound even better.  It goes from really harsh to something so powerful and beautiful.  I love it.

You know, Cram, you are right.

I've been listening to Static Impulse all week and have been really enjoying it. Moreso than the first time around.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol

Awesome, Static Impulse has that same feel.  I was never a big fan of screams, still not a big fan, but I totally get it with this band.  James is such a powerfull singer that when you get a verse filled with screams, when it finally hits that chorus, James just explodes and it blows my mind.  I feel like if he was singing all along, that explosion of awesomeness wouldnt be there.

Yep, I think that it's the contrast that works so well.

Screaming and growling work better like that, as a contrast. I've pretty much always hated it, partly because most bands who use it do nothing else vocally. It's a one trick pony without dynamics or anything interesting, but when coupled with clean vocals it can certainly add something.

The song has really grown on me. It definitely seems to be keeping in the direction of Static Impulse, which was a good album, so there's that.

It was basically the same for me as when 'One More Time' was released off SI. I didn't like the growls at all at first, then they grew on me a bit, and then I began to like how they played off of everything else on the track.

I fucking love this song. Completely grew on me in a big way, and I LOVE the growls because they are used sparingly, yet the few lines screamed are powerful. James sounds awesome and DAT CHORUS!!! I can't wait for this. Although...I'm still quite cautious, I only really loved one song on SI (I Tried), but then again I really couldn't stand the screams on that album... I don't know how to put it better but... they almost sound cheesy. It just doesn't meld well with James' musical styles, in my shitty little shit opinion. But I love the growls on Agony, really digging the entire track. Solo is nice too.

That said, I've been digging through some old Labrie material and I cannot overstate my love for Elements. I would love for James to go totally solo for at least another album sometime down the line (in regards to vocals).

Yeah, I bought Static Impulse, hoping that it would grow on me, but after many listens I just couldn't get past the screaming.  This new song just sounds like more of the same.  Oh well, there's plenty of other music to check out, and if this is what James wants to do, more power to him.  I hope it does well for him.

I love the 1st release "Agony"  great atmosphere and I love the trade off with Wildoer, as the did on the last album. Great contrast.  I am not into the growling except in this case, because it builds up to that amazing JLB tone.   JLB really has amazing harmony on his solo albums. I am eagerly awaiting this new effort!

I think the shirt is a little unspectacular, so I'll have to think a little if I'll just go for the "normal" limited edition off of amazon instead.
