Mullmuzzler 1 has the best songs.
Mullmuzzler 2 is the best album as a whole.

In both cases, the good things far outweighs the bad for me, and even though it's ages I haven't heard them, I'm still very fond of them.
I use my sig to pimp some bands from Italy! Check out Elvenking (Power / Folk metal), Folkstone (Rock / Medieval metal), Arcana Opera (Gothic/Noir/Heavy metal) and the beautiful voice of Elisa!

EOP is my favorite JLB solo album, that lineup alone is :metal :metal :metal

Having said that, I'm not too fond of the Mullmuzzler albums , I just don't find those songs too good or worth listening to. The last two (SI and IR) are much better.

Btw, I'm hoping we get new updates about the acoustic solo album soon.
It sounds like, "ruk, ruk, ruk, ruk, ruk." Instead of the more pleasing kick drum sound of, "gzarruk, gzarruk, gzarruk, gzarruk."

James' son band FALSET featuring James LaBrie - Kickstart My Heart ( Mötley Crüe Cover)

Jeez...this is pretty amazing. I honestly can't wait for the new DT...James sounds in top form.

Reading the comments in a few different places and people are not being very complimentary......of Vince Neil. A few said James was going to take his job.  :lol

Finally James made his return to glam! Now for a Winter Rose reunion...I'm kind of serious.

Between the 2 Mullmuzzler albums, there's about 1 album's worth of OK songs.

EOP slays both of those.

The last two are really good, as well.
Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

Another guest spot from James on Timo Tolkki's new album.

Also guitar, bass and keys are all done for the new solo album.   Off for mixing soon according to Paul Logue who he's wrote it with.

Would anyone happen to know when James LaBrie's new solo album is coming out?

Paul Logue posts updates every once in a while. I think the album is still in the final stage of mixing and then they need to get a label for release...

From this new interview in Turkish posted on the DT15 thread: the new JLB solo album will be called "Beautiful Shade of Grey" and will probably be released in April or May 22.

As a basic rule, if you hate it, you must solely blame Portnoy. If it's good, then you must downplay MP's contribution to the band as not being important anyway, or claim he's just lying. It's the DTF way.

I found one at my record store! Wahoo!
I don't want MP playing with DT unless they were making a drummer change. If they let MM go and bring back MP, then fine, but no guest appearance please.

Sounds amazing, hyped :metal
I've always felt James sounded better away from DT, like melodies were built around him and not the other way around :P As much as I love DT, James is just ok in newer stuff (other than The Astonishing, he's amazing there) so I can't wait to hear his new album.

I always wanted DT to hire Matt Guillory so they both work on the melodies in DT. IIRC Matt did the majority of the writing and then JLB adjusted things he didn't like or improved in other ways. But they worked great on all the albums they worked together.

Matt is not in JLB lineup anymore iirc? I know he was main writing force on 3 previous albums but I still hope the new one will be as good as those.

Yeah, he's not part of this one as far as I know, not sure if he did anything for it or is it all someone else + James. But Matt was doing lead demo vocals and a lot of music writing for the others. The teaser did remind me of some of the style and melodies they had on previous albums so hopefully they kept that spirit of doing things even without him.

The history of james as a solo artist is confusing and even he admitted as much that it really wasnt a solo effort but a team effort. They just had to use his name for publicity.

This project is separate from all of that with the exception of Marco on lead guitar. Not that anything happened between them. Just a new opportunity to work with Paul Logue

JLB peaked with the track "Slightly out of Reach" from the "Elements of Persuasion" album. Simply a brilliant song.

"Devil in Drag", what kind of title is that!?  :lol Of course I'll check it out when it's released.

I listen Devil in Drag and there is so much Mullmuzzler (Especially Confronting The Devil)  and EoP vibes vocally and musically which I like.

Good tune.

I believe he did say at first that it would be but in later interviews he specified that he would have a full band and some music would be a little faster paced.

I thought that too, had some MM vibes. Went back and listened to Confronting the Devil, what a great song still. Gary Wehrkamp / Carl Cadden James really know how to write good songs.
