Working from home, I have so much more time to listen to music, that I basically run out of things to listen to (well, technically I don't, but I don't feel like listening the exact same albums every single day). So I took a trip down memory lane and dug back up a couple of James' albums outside of DT: Frameshift's Unweaving the Rainbow, and Tim Donahue's Madmen and Sinners.
Unweaving the Rainbow is still fresh and enjoyable, and has James at the top of his game. Not every song is a memorable masterpiece, but it's so innovative and fresh to have an album dedicated to science and biology. Very unusual and more unique than rare lyrical approach. A lot of great songs there, including one of James' greatest ballads, La Mer. Also the epic Message from the Mountain is wonderful, and I have always had a soft spot for the catchy Off the Ground.
Madmen and Sinners is more generic. Classic heavy / rock / prog album. Nothing to scream in awe about, but a very solid offering. The title track is an absolute monster of a song and the entire album is solid and once again has James in great form. Everyone in love with James' voice should definitively check it.
