Jelly Jam 3: Work to begin later this month
« on: May 05, 2010, 10:02:23 AM »
From Ty Tabor's Myspace

Quote
Ty Tabor will begin working on the third Jelly Jam album later this month. I'm psyched to be recording with John Myung and Rod Morgenstein again. It's taken a few years, but we finally worked out our schedules. I can't wait to find out what Jelly Jam 3 will be!

Awesome news.
Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

Awesome!

And I think Derek was part of Platypus, so Jelly Jam is just Platypus without Derek.

Is Jelly Jam worth checking out? I'd like to support them seeing as how I've supported Transatlantic.

Okay, try this:  Allison

There are other songs on that page you can try out as well, but Allison is probably my favorite from JJ2.

EDIT:  Okay, I'll include my second favorite as well.  Angel or Devil

EDIT2:  And I also realize I'm breaking my own forum rules by linking to officially-released material.  Doing so is generally off-limits.  But let's face it, nobody outside a very small handful of DT and KX fans have ever even heard of Jelly Jam, so it's not like the band is going to get any promotion whatsoever by any source other than by doing stuff like this.

I would be a lot more excited if you replaed "Jelly Jam" with "Platypus." But I will check it out once it is released...

I never heard about this project before...

Just now , I'm listening to first album the first time... it's not the style I like that much, but still good music...

The song The Jelly Jam is pretty cool...

My favorite tune from them:  Allison

I just love the main riff, and how Myung rocks that riff during the ambient parts on the verses.

That original release was from early May (just after the smile of dawn arrived, as I recall), so since he said work was supposed to begin "later this month," I would have to assume the answer is 'yes.'

I'm hoping that JJ3 comes out in October or November so I have some lapse time from listening to JLB's new album (and time to save up money!). Should be good and I can't wait to hear what these guys have up their musical sleeves!
