Can you stop the retarded >implying blablabla shit? We're not in the toilet (also known as a certain place with the name starting with a number). Thanks.

On-topic, yesterday was my first listen to Signify. A bunch of loose thoughts even more incoherent (and making even less [NUGGETS!!!!!1] sense) than usually in my case:
- the beginning and ending of the album: :rollin
- Signify (the title track) would be an amazing live opener
- Sever is great, I think I slightly prefer the Anesthetize version, but the samples give a very interesting effect
- Dark Matter is very good, but I think it will need to grow on me, it doesn't impress me that much yet
- most of the instrumentals are quite weird and definitely will require time, but I mostly like them, Idiot Prayer is my favourite for now
- Every Home is Wired... I really don't like it :\
- "Light Mass Prayers", despite the repetition, is amazing in a certain way
- SLEEP OF NO DREAMING. I don't get how the hell I didn't pay attention to this song when I watched Anesthetize for the first time. It's definitely my favourite for now, and one of the most powerful PT songs I've heard. The chorus is absolutely incredible, and so are the lyrics, as depressive as they are...
- overall - I definitely like it.

Today will be the second listen. Before tomorrow's concert.

Also, just finished watching Anesthetize for the second time and it's really amazing, nearly perfect. And I still don't get how I didn't care for Sleep of No Dreaming at first.

That's it for now.

Dude, darkes just reminded me of Every Home is Wired

dude

I love Signify so fucking much. It may be my favorite PT album.  But I save it for times when I feel like simply listening to what I define that album as the very definition of british underground music.

Any talk of Signify must involve much discussion about the awesomeness that is "Waiting."  :hat

This.

Also, SW said that they'd be playing songs that they haven't played with GH, so I'm assuming we're getting songs like "Waiting", "Baby Dream In Cellophane" and some other amazing but under appreciated songs.

I find it hard to believe they haven't played "Waiting," at least phase one, with Gavin.

Well I'm assuming he meant songs that weren't released onto DVD yet. I'm sure they've played the larger majority of their catalog with Gavin at this point.. Unless the show is filled with transition songs and intro tracks, which I doubt.

Waiting is ok but didn't grab me.

Baby Dream in Cellophane live? Please, I almost fell asleep during The Sound of Muzak, and this is even worse.

Yeah, you know that "thanks" at the end of the album? That is partly towards the people who listen to the album all the way through.

Steven Wilson does not thank you.

I imagined the story to go more like this.

I was sitting a traffic light blaring Space Dye Vest and next to me in another car was Kevin Moore. And I'll never be open again.

Just came back from the concert. This will be the very, very short version, the full version will be tomorrow (maybe).

Setlist:
https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/porcupine-tree/2010/wytwornia-toya-studios-lodz-poland-43d4673b.html

Much more "classic" than in Wroclaw in October, and also great. Completely didn't see Pure Narcotic coming and it literally brought me to tears when SW said "this is a song we haven't played for... six-seven years I think..." and then I heard this is it. He confused the lyrics in the part near the end ("have we ever been here before..." etc.) but it just made it even more honest. Overall, perfect performance, great sound, very nice setlist, fucking terrible temperature (35C degrees outside, I swear it was even hotter inside).

And after the concert, the bus was basically on the way in/out of the club, and a bunch of people were waiting. I wanted to wait too, but no, they're tired and stuff. It didn't work.

Ten minutes later, when we were already driving home, I got a message they're giving autographs.

At first I was pissed off, now I'm depressed to say the least. My only chance, and knowing my fucking luck I'll never get another one, is wasted and gone. The thunderstorm and rain on most of the way home just added to the experience.

I think I'm going to bed soon. Good night.

Hello other song I'd like to add to my implausible Asheville wishlist!

That brings it to:
Trains
Buying New Soul
Pure Narcotic
I Drive the Hearse
Hatesong

I'm setting myself up for a load of disappointment, huh?

So I'm listening to Up the Downstair right now.  Damn this album is amazing, and yet it was always very low on my PT rankings because every non-OTSOL album is incredible.  Well, time for a new album list time, featuring an elevated UtDS.

Lightbulb Sun
In Absentia
The Incident
Stupid Dream
Signify
Up the Downstair
Deadwing

Should I get a remastered edition? Or are any of the original editions still in print?

On the subject of setlists, I  was so jealous when I saw the setlist they played on the night after I saw them. Solely because they played Buying New Soul.

In a way, I'm sort of glad though. I can rarely ever listen to that song anyway. It's just so beautiful and I relate so closely to the lyrics that I get very shaken when I listen to it.
