As much as I want something from Awake, it would more likely be something more recent; odds of it being A Rite Of Passage are probably pretty high. Though there are other songs I'd prefer, I'd be fine with that.
Yeah, I think they'd add something off Systematic Chaos or BC&SL, since RR Records has been releasing a lot of DLC recently. If they added The Dark Eternal Night I would FFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU- first, but I'd realize that it's a hard song to play and hell of a fun one to sing.

Oh that would be a very fun song regardless if you like it or not.

Metropolis would be the perfect song for Rock Band.

Under A Glass Moon would be pretty epic.

Honestly, though it will probably never happen, Images & Words as DLC would be incredible.

Images and Words/Awake in its entirety would be amazing as DLC and I would die.

I'd say The Glass Prison myself...especially with the new keyboard for RB3.

If it weren't for their "No songs over 10 minutes long" guideline they try to follow I'd say that BC&SL is the most likely thing we would get just because it's the newest and I'm sure Roadrunner would love to promote it using Rockband. A 19 minute song pushes that limit just a bit though.
Cole: "Ow I just got hit in the balls"
Me: "How?"
Cole: "Well you know when you try to scratch your balls, and you scratch too hard?
I'll admit sometimes I want to listen to Dragonforce.

On disc, it almost definitely wouldn't be a song over 10 minutes. As DLC, they're much more likely to allow it, like how Rush's The Camera Eye is available.

And These walls could be fun on Keyboard I guess.

The Test that stumped them all would be awesome on all instruments! :D

Rock Band 3 is gonna be great period. The 'pro' idea is great, for those who haven't already seen it there are 2 new guitar controllers, one with 102 buttons and one which is just a real guitar with some extra electronics! It's gonna be so hard, but so great.

Also, I don't think there will be a DT song in the RB3 setlist, but I think there will be a 3-song DT DLC package released for it soon after release.

Yeah, with that guitar, shit is gonna get real.
I'm really excited. Playinga Petrucci solo is going to be murder.
Plus, all the instruments are going to have a Pro mode, so I'm back to being legit excited for a music game again!

And then I heard this at 1:47.

"DAH DA DA DAH DUN!"

And then the same exact thing at 5:45.

Haha, he said the same thing last night in Virginia. A bit different, something along the lines of "IF ANYONES A FAN OF ROCKBAND 2, THIS IS PANIC ATTACK!" something like that anyway

Just amazing.  DT should count their lucky stars that some of their fans are at this level of unconditional cult worship.

Seriously, if they take it this far, wouldn't it be better just to drop the game and learn how to shred for real?

Just because you are a shredder doesn't mean you are a competent songwriter. Being able to shred means NOTHING to me if you are a shitty songwriter. No offense to anyone, but one of the key parts of being a musician to me would be being able to write songs. If you can't do that, you might as well be playing Rock Band.

Sure but its a skill that people could be developing. Why play a game that simulates that when you could take the time to do it for real, is my point.

Why play Madden when you could play actual football?

Why play war games when you could join the army?

Why play Grand Theft Auto when you can actually steal cars and pimp out bitches?
Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

Because people aren't willing to suffer the consequences or do the work to get there. But if the controls of the game are exactly like a real guitar, it seems like a better deal to just learn how to play the instrument.

Because maybe they don't care to be in a band? Being a musician is more than just ripping 1000 notes/second. There's the whole thing about working with other people in a band, actually being able to write songs, etc.

Who cares? If someone just wants to have fun playing a fucking video game let them. But the stupidest part about this debate is that the people seem to think that these games haven't inspired thousands of kids to pick up an instrument. A lot more than would have tried it without playing the game first.
