yeah, but you need proof that Devy originally offered it.  I'm not a mod, but I would imagine that a link to his twitter feed post where he originally offered it would probably suffice.

Alright, I'll see if I can find his forum post with him offering it, and I'll edit it into this post along with the link, since it was snipped.

Edit:
Proof?

Through Plagues - From The Depths - 2010

https://throughplagues.bandcamp.com/album/from-the-depths
Available for download for free in FLAC, ALAC, 3 different kinds of MP3, 2 kinds of AAC, and OGG (I :heart BandCamp).
Melodic Death Metal from Brisbane, Australia.

Drewsif Stalin's Musical Endeavors - Delusions Of A Greater Future - 2010

https://drewsifstalin.bandcamp.com/album/delusions-of-a-greater-future
Available for download for free in FLAC, ALAC, 3 different kinds of MP3, 2 kinds of AAC, and OGG (I :heart :heart :heart BandCamp).
Yay Technical Death Metal! They don't forget to throw in some melodies, though. Lots of cool movie samples too.
Features a pretty Metal cover of Brahms Hungarian Dance No. 5.

I'll Eat Your Face - Irritant - 2010

https://illeatyourface.bandcamp.com/
Available for download for free in FLAC, ALAC, 3 different kinds of MP3, 2 kinds of AAC, and OGG (I :heart :heart :heart BandCamp).
Instrumental sort-of-proggy grindcore. Production's pretty good.

Diablo Swing Orchestra - The Butcher's Ballroom - 2006

https://www.jamendo.com/en/album/49216
MP3 download. One of the best Avant-Garde Metal bands I've ever heard.

The Sequence of Prime - Virion - 2010

https://thesequenceofprime.bandcamp.com/
FLAC, ALAC, 3 different kinds of MP3, 2 kinds of AAC, and OGG!
It's hard for me to describe this one. A one man project by Brandon Duncan. It's scratcy old school Thrash, some almost Black Metal parts, and Nevermore-like vocals. He tagged it as Industrial, but I must be missing those bits.

Embers - Memoria In Aeterna - 2007, & Wrath - 2010

https://embers.bandcamp.com/album/memoria-in-aeterna

https://embers.bandcamp.com/
BandCamp - FLAC, ALAC, 3 different kinds of MP3, 2 kinds of AAC, and OGG.
Two short EPs of standard Black Metal/Ambient Black Metal.

Devoid of Grace - Psychotic Journey - 2010
(Won't post the cover because of a little bit of nudity)
https://www.devoidofgrace.ru/download.php - The second link leads to a Russian file hosting site if you'd like a lossless version. The last link is a direct link to the MP3 version.
Typical Modern Death Metal. Not bad at all.

Gatherer (Formerly This City Sunrise) sort of Post-Hardcore I suppose.

https://thiscitysunrise.blogspot.com/ - Links to two EP downloads contained within

I've pimped these guys so hard on these forums but this and the NewCal album Sigz posted are the only free albums I know of.  Both are New Zealand bands too so, brilliant.

This self titled first EP pretty dang awesome for a bands debut release.  It was recorded and mixed by the band themselves and some friends, and it sounds so sweet.  These guys know good tone.  Hard.

This second EP is much heavier and a lot darker than the previous effort.  But there is a lot more melody and musicality to this one than the first.  Sadly though there isn't much 'video game-ness' as with the first one.  But it makes up for that by having balls in abundance.  My sentence structure is terrible.

EDIT:  There are also some sweet videos of one of their shows at a tiny club in Wellington, NZ.  https://vimeo.com/2977190

Awesome song, not on any release as of yet.

Because Flac + Foobar is the most awesome combination of all time. Is it too big?

Not exactly an album, but a compilation of web releases by my favorite band, Machinae Supremacy (pronounced like 'machine'). They're a mix of chiptunes and power metal. Robert Stjarnstrom's voice will take some getting used to.

https://machinaesupremacy.com/webography.php

Recommended tracks: Sidstyler, Winterstorm, Attack Music, Sidology Episodes 1, 2 and 3, Origin, Anthem Apocalyptica

Made this myself. Darth Nihilus ftw.

Hi guys,

Earlier in the year I finished a solo album called 'The Box'. I've thrown it up on last.fm for all to listen to - https://www.last.fm/music/IanGordon/The+Box

Yes it's long (121 minutes), proggy and OTT.

Brief synopsis -

Jason is troubled. Plagued by guilt owing to the death of his father, he’s ended up a loner, wiling away his evenings in front of a television in a cramped bedsit.

His life is about to change forever:

Inexplicably transported to an eerily familiar world of towering cities and sprawling plains, a pipe-smoking dwarf is Jason’s only aid as he is forced to face his demons. Reminders of his childhood are frequent, and a mysterious figure in black curiously observes his every step.

Seeking out signs of his childhood home, can Jason piece together the puzzle?

Only the enigmatic Box can provide the answers he so desperately seeks.

If anybody wants a link to download the full thing (with lyrics) feel free to PM me.

Cheers!

Here's a few indie alternative albums:

Drivemouth - Pink & Blue (2010)

Album: https://drivemouth.bandcamp.com/album/pink-blue (Hit 'Buy Album' and just enter 0, unless you wanna make a donation of some kind)
Artwork and Lyrics: https://www.drivemouth.com/pab/BookletBTS.zip

Drivemouth - The Imperfectionist (2009)

Album: https://www.drivemouth.com/free/Drivemouth%20-%20The%20Imperfectionist.zip
Artwork and Lyrics: https://www.drivemouth.com/free/imperfectionist.zip

Kinda hard to describe the sound but there are some samples on the bandcamp link to get a feel for the music.

Synaptic Fracture - The Lunatic Transmissions - 2010
https://www.archive.org/details/SynapticFracture-TheLunaticTransmissions2010
Available in MP3 and Flac.
One man project by E.M. Hearst (Programming, Synthesizers, Guitars, Vocals). He calls it 'brutal industrial death metal'.
Downloaded this last night. I've been thoroughly enjoying it. It's damn creepy, and I love the mix of industrial guitars and synth.

I think creepy is a great way to describe it. I love the vocals.

Dissolution  - Plague of Violence - 2010

https://dissolution.bandcamp.com/
BandCamp Flacs and MP3s per usual.
Thrash from a place called Christchurch, (:2metal:) New Zealand. The vocals are much harsher than any Thrash stuff I've heard - somewhat on the Black Metal side. And blast beats! Pretty cool stuff.

Atmosphere - Leak At Will - 2009 (Hip/Hop)

For those who aren't into hip/hop, and want to try out some artists, Atmosphere is at the top of list that I highly recommend. This mixtape is so ill too.

John Wesley, off of Porcupine Tree, has all of his solo stuff available for free. I never got round to listening to it, but he's a good lad.

https://www.john-wesley.com/Downloads.html

Would be good to index these bands somehow in the OP, so it's not just a continuous wall of miscellaneous downloads. Maybe by genre?
I've listened to the most recent album he has posted so far, and it's really very solid stuff. And I can tell how he ended up with Steven Wilson. His style is a very good fit with Porcupine Tree.

Just to let you know, some of the thrashy riffs aren't as tight as they should be. Sounds like the tracks were done in one take.
If you like corny Thrash and Black Metal vocals, you'll love it.

ENTRAILS - Hardcore Punk/Death from Wellington/NZ

Haven't given the album a proper listen, but what I have heard is rather brutal; crushing bass/guitar tone and guttural vocals to the max.  Pretty cool.
