Most underrated song from the most underrated band
« on: June 29, 2010, 08:10:38 PM »
Just on purpose to discover some new bands....

First song that comes into my mind is Anthem To The Estranged from Metal Church's album Blessing In Disguise which is rock solid.

Such a great epic song with great lyrics. Drumming has some nice slow riffs and the guitar solo is very solid.  You have to heard this one if you don't know the song.

Far out.  Hadn't heard that since it was new.  Overall the album was quite good, but a disappointment for those of us who were big fans of the late, great David Wayne.

And wrong forum, BTW.
Argument, the presentation of reasonable views, never makes headway against conviction, and conviction takes no part in argument because it knows.

I actually enjoyed that song more after pressing the Vuvuzela button. I guess indie is just not for me.
I felt its length in quite a few places.

Towards indie? Probably actually. I haven't been able to actually enjoy the genre for a good 4 months now.

Well, it's a terrible genre, so don't worry about it  ;D

I like some indie-folk artists, actually, but there's something about a bunch of hipsters in a room together trying to outdo eachother that seems to have universally catastrophic results.

It's probably just the hipster and indie lifestyles that make the music almost unlistenable to me. I just...despise them. I don't know if one would consider The Hold Steady all that indie, but if they are, then that's one indie band I do really enjoy next to Modest Mouse (inb4 flames on how they are no longer indie).

I hear ya. The whole indie style is the worst, because beneath its modest and egalitarian veneer, it's the most pretentious, cliquish, elitist and snobbish genre in existence ever (probably.).

I do love me them indie-folk guitarists though. Love Steve Gonzalez' contribution to Red Dead Redemption.

Go write an indie song about how your hate for us is better than both of our opinions combined.

I will never for the life of me understand disliking music because of it's (percieved) fanbase. Ever.

Anyways, a good one:

'Remberance of Things Past' by Ved Buens Ende. Early avant-garde metal/black metal band, and a very epic song.

Not from an underrated band but Vital Signs is the most underrated song on Moving Pictures.

THAT SONG IS AWESOME!!!

Lordi

Aren't they GWAR mixed with Manowar, retaining all the things that suck about both bands?

They have a few cool songs. But to say nothing sucks about them would be ignoring this obligatory pic:

Anyways, back on topic: Hurt needs more love. Summers Lost, Alone With The Sea, Danse Russe and Thank You For Listening are all great songs

@picture

I kind of liked Lordi's music (while I was hearing it.  I'm not a fan though) mostly because it surprised me with their giant costumes and then it was all synth and stuff.

Yeah, this thread is a fairly golden example of why I make an effort to pay as little attention to genre tags and all that comes with them as possible.

Anyway, I dunno about most underrated song by most underrated band, but I'll use the opportunity to pimp a song rated through the roof by a decent group of folks, but definitely not enough. This is without a doubt one of my favourite songs.

The 3 albums they did with Mike Howe are freaking awesome. AWESOME!! I love them all. Never really got into the Wayne stuff.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol
