Vince Neil Arrested For Drunk Driving In Las Vegas
« on: June 29, 2010, 10:15:29 AM »
So, you'd think after killing someone because of drunk driving, you'd stop drinking and driving... apparently not. https://www.kerrang.com/blog/2010/06/motley_crue_frontman_arrested.html
Quote
Motley Crue frontman Vince Neil was arrested yesterday morning (June 28) in Las Vegas under suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.

The 49-year-old singer is currently being held in Clark County jail pending a court appearance.

Neil has been arrested fro drink driving before. In 1984 he was charged with vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence of alcohol after killing Hanoi Rocks drummer Nicholas 'Razzle' Dingley in a car accident.

I really hope he's out of jail before Ozzfest 2010, because I was really excited to see Mötley Crüe for the first time.

Motley Crue is horrible man, one of the worst shows I've seen, BECAUSE of Vince Neil.

Pardon my ignorance, but how did he not stay in prison after his first DUI? Did he post bond?

I've heard from other people as well that Vince Neil kinda lowers the level of their shows, but just saying that I've seen them will make me happy. I'm not a huge fan, but I'd like to see them for the novelty factor than anything.

I don't know, 'twas a while ago though. I'm sure he paid them a couple billion dollars and got off fine.

EDIT: Apparently, he got out on bail this morning... not surprising (although I'm glad).

I saw Vince at the M3 show on 6-19.  A lot of people said he wasn't very good.  He did go on a little late, but I personally thought he sounded great.

I saw them in 06 when they did a co-headlining tour with Aerosmith, I;m not  a huge Crue fan, but I do like some of their stuff, so I was disapointed when Vince sounded horrible and made the crowd sing most of the vocals for some of his songs.

One of my friends who saw them ~a year ago said that it's a good thing he knew all the lyrics, because Neil mumbled a lot.

Let me get this straight.

You don't want him in prison because you want to see them live?

I'm sorry, but he deserves to be in prison. He should have been behind bars for a few years at least for the manslaughter...

No, I want him to be out of prison before I see them. I still think he should be in prison, I was just hoping he would be out before Ozzfest 2010. And he is.

What exactly is the difference between not wanting someone in prison and wanting someone out of prison? It's the exact same thing phrased two different ways.

And I find it to be quite selfish to hope someone isn't held accountable for a VERY serious action just so you can benefit from it.

I see what he's saying.  He's saying "Hey, he did a bad thing and I agree that he should be in jail - he's GOING to get out fairly quickly, since he's a celebrity, so (God willing) maybe it'll be before this show I'm going to.  If not, that sucks, but he fucked up."

I don't believe he was saying that VN should not be punished, just so HE could get to see the Crue, because he's selfish.

Doesn't really matter either way, since VN got himself out anyway - no big surprise.

Really? Maybe compared to the craptacular backing band he had with him. The quality of his performance was all the encouragement I needed to walk to the back stage to check out Nelson for a few songs...

This post is correct, as was Jamesman's and GuitarCozmo's

I still think he should be in prison
Did everyone miss this?

No, but you also said that you don't want him in prison so he can perform at ozzfest. Which is it?

Read this carefully I've underlined important parts:
I really hope he's out of jail before Ozzfest 2010, because I was really excited to see Mötley Crüe for the first time.
Hoping he's out of jail before the show is implying that I believe he should be in jail, I never said anything against him going to jail.

What exactly is the difference between not wanting someone in prison and wanting someone out of prison? It's the exact same thing phrased two different ways.

And I find it to be quite selfish to hope someone isn't held accountable for a VERY serious action just so you can benefit from it.

Wanting someone in prison and wanting them out before the show = Acknowledging that they should be in jail for what they've done, and hoping they get out soon enough

Not wanting someone in jail = Thinking that they are undeserving of punishment for their actions

Well, to be fair, we were sitting WAY back on the lawn and a little to the side, so it may not have been a fair evaluation, but I didn't think he sounde BAD.  Now disappearing while the rest of Slaughter did some Zep and Dio was a little odd.

I have a very low tolerance level for stupid people.

Neil killed someone by drunk driving before.

He is still drunk driving.

He needs to be tossed in a volcano.

Learned his lesson?

you'd think killing someone while driving drunk would make you see the light.

This is why he needs to be locked up
