Go one eye so it can be bigger. The details pop more when the imagery of generously spaced, IMO. And that's speaking from experience with my own work, where i find my sleeve is a bit clunky in places compared to my back/shoulder piece which is better spaced

The first image called to me, but then almost instinctually I cut it in half and think that's the right way to go.

Yep. That’s some incredible work. I imagine his tats are several sessions given the level of detail they have. I’d be curious as to what his fee is. I’m sure it’s a pretty penny. But completely worth it.

I’m getting the itch to get back in. I have an OLD tat on my right arm that I got very impulsively. At the time (I was 18) I drew it up and raced off to get it. It’s not that I ‘regret’ getting it....I regret not letting a professional artist take my idea and come up with something. Anyway, I told the guy who’s done my recent ones I’d like to either covering up or incorporate it into a larger piece.

It'd be cool if you could incorporate it unless you really don't like it. I also have had the itch on getting another tattoo but it'll be a while before I settle on something I really like.

I think it's more about presenting the art than just looking at it yourself. Sure, I like to look at my tattoos; but it's also about having nice art work on my body for other people to enjoy when they have an opportunity to see it. I completely understand your position though. On most days though, only the forearm section of my one sleeve is actually visible. At this point I have thousands of dollars in tattoos that aren't visible to anyone outside my household lol.

He pulled the palette over from the edges of my tattoo on the inside of my forearm so it blended as a mural.

Just had a consult with my tattoo guy....got an appointment set for 9/24 and 10/16. Looking at my right arm....kind of half sleeve deal but I have an old tat there that he's going to incorporate/cover. Just told him I was open to the design....looking at a geometric style mash up with his flare.....asked if he could work the DT logo in there as well. He's a good artist so I'm looking forward to what he comes up with.

Had the background finished on my latest work. At some point I'll fill in the space between the two sides on my back, but for now I'm quite pleased. Next work is going to be finishing the sleeve on my left arm (it's a Dark Tower themed half sleeve right now).

My artist almost never sends me the design being initial sketching, so i can understand the butterflies. Look forward to seeing it!

OK so.....here is the 27 year old tat that I was going to get covered up. I drew this when I was 18 and thought it'd be 'awesome' to get a tat of something I drew. Anyway.....as you can see it's every bit a 27 year old tattoo that an 18 year old drew

My artist was sure he could revamp it and so I said lets go for it and this was after about an hour of sitting....

Then, the grand plan is to have a background of geometric style shapes....etc etc. so he started in with a mandala. I still have another session to go as there is a plan to radiate out with different patterns....will go another 3-4 inches lower....off to the sides and up top.

Next and probably final session is 10/16....but, I'm stoked as I'm digging it big time. I was floored with how well he did with revitalizing the old one.

Yep. That's what we will be doing next session. Going to utlize the 3-4ish inches below the mandala and refreshed tat.....above....and on the sides. Will just be more geometrical patterns
