God no. So, so right. I mean, it's not the same as mine, but I think if you're enjoying each album more than the previous then you're basically the ideal fan. That's more or less fantastic. We should all be consulting you as a kind of oracle, to use the word "oracle" twice in as many days. Thrice now, come to think of it.

Not if you ranked them in order of your actual preference.
Hef is right on all things. Except for when I disagree with him. In which case he's probably still right.

I'm sure some will pick the first album, but from what I read it would seem SC gets unfair treatment. I personally love the album and think its every bit as good as BC&SL.
So what DT album that you love do you think is treated unfairly?

Bump...

Falling Into Infinity - DEFINITELY... I don't see why people hate "You Not Me" on here, I'm ok with it, I could live without "Burning My Soul" though. It's a fantastic album.

...and WDADU - especially Light Fuse and Get Away and TOWHTSTS.

Invert You Not Me with Burning My Soul in that phrase and you have my opinion.

This, except that FII is my 2nd least favorite album.

In case anyone cares about my opinion:

1) Scenes from a Memory
2) Awake
3) Images and Words

4) Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence
5) Black Clouds & Silver Lining

6) Falling Into Infinity

7) Octavarium
8) Train of Thought
9) Systematic Chaos

The ones that are grouped (ie. SDOIT and BCSL) sometimes swap spots with each other depending on my mood. This would be my top 9 as of now (haven't listened to WDADU yet)
Although Systematic Chaos is last, I still love it. It's that the others are better.

i think systemtic chaos and falling into infinity. so what if the albums have a bit simpler songwriting and structure. so what if its simpler lyrics. atleast they are attempting to shake things up a bit.

Before black clouds came out every single album was polled here. I wonder what happened to that series of polls? They're not in the archive.

WDADU probably. I love the album. i bought it on release after the review in Kerrang! and loved it. Still play it alot but it does sound like another band now. Who was that bass player they had back then? lol. He's all over the record. Yes it sounds muddy and Cd isn't JLB but I love it.

As to SC, I love half of it (the half most here appear not to...). ITPoE 1 and 2, Forsaken (Always thought this would have been awesome as a duet with Sharon Den Adel of Within Temptation), Ministry, even PoW. Can't stand DEN, CM is tolerable and Repentence bores me as a standalone song. Maybe it works as part of the suite but I haven't listened to it as such.

ToT has some of my favourite songs. I recently put it down as my least favourite DT album on MP.com, with loads of songs I didn't like, but when I actually went back and listened to it there was only HTF that I didn't find to be fantastic!

ToT is full of greatness..but there's just something about the way that album sounds. It comes accross as very sterile and cold. The Live At Budokan versions are outstanding, and live, they just have a different feel. So theoretically, ToT should rank pretty high for me, but I hardly ever listen to it. If I want to hear Endless Sacrifice, ITNOG, or This Dying Soul, I always pull out Budokan.
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related
Winger Theater Forums........or WTF.  ;D
TAC got a higher score than me in the electronic round? Honestly, can I just drop out now? :lol
