Everything is wrong with his voice. It's like one of those stereotypical redneck country singers. A higher pitched Huckleberry Hound singing "Oh my darling Clementine".

Shallow Grave has certainly grown on me a lot more than The Wild Hunt has. Although I think I still prefer The Wild Hunt as I loved it instantly, they're both amazing.

It's good but The Wild Hunt is on another level. Plus, the sound quality of Shallow Grave is horrible.

They're equal for me.
If I had a gun to my had and had to pick one, I'd most likely go for The Wild Hunt.
Not necessarily better, but I have very fond memories of it, seeing as it was the first album by him I heard, and it has my favorite song of his, Love is All.

I think song for song, Sometimes The Blues Is Just A Passing Bird is his most consistently perfect release. But it's only an EP!

Also, y'all should check out the Daytrotter Sessions versions of Shallow Grave and I Won't Be Found, I prefer them to the originals. And Where I Thought I Met The Angels, his best song imo. And In The Pockets. And Weather of a Killing Kind!

I love this man.
