The division on this is amazing :lol

I guess that's the great thing about the band. Everyone's got a different favorite.

I still don't see what's so amazing about Karma.

It has some AMAZING songs, like whatever the first generic up lifting power metal song is, the ballads, and the elizabeth trilogy. But most of the rest songs are just boring.

Black Halo just keeps it interesting all the way through. Pure energy, POWAH!

I listed it under the amazing category, I just forgot its name.

Well, there's no leak, but I'm friends with the guitarist of Futures End, and he says he "knows people" and he's heard the album already. He's said it's arguably their best (not sure if I'll agree with that, but it keeps me hopeful).

I know people will call bullshit on that, but I do actually believe him. He's friends with a ton of musicians (as well as Jon Oliva, who is featured on the album) and his band was supposed to tour with Kamelot as well. We'll just have to wait and see :)

I don't doubt that your friend heard the album, but I doubt he thinks it's their best. He's lying about that. He thinks Black Halo is their best and this album sounds a little uninspired and boring. He wishes the guitar was a little louder in the mix and has no clue why they made such a big deal out of bringing in a great great keyboardist and then restricting him to background nonsence.

I asked if it was Ghost Opera Pt. 2 and he said "not even close".

He lied about that too. It's called "Poetry For The Poisoned: Ghost Opera Pt. 2: Him"

I doubt it will be better than Epica.

I like Ghost Opera and all, but dude, TPE is one of the best albums ever made.

Ghost Opera, unfortunately, is not.

Currently listening to:

Anathema - We're Here Because We're Here *****
Kamelot - Poetry For The Poisoned **
Les Discrets - Septembre Et Ses Dernières Pensées ***1/2
Porcupine Tree - Deadwing *****
Symphony X - The Odyssey ****1/2

There is a medley of samples up on Kamelot's official myspace, check it out.

https://www.myspace.com/kamelot

Sounds a little heavier, not getting too much out of the samples though.  Hunter's Season does sound excellent though.

Wtf, you heard a one-minute clip (well, two clips really), most of which was build-up. How can you tell anything from that?

Oh wait, I forgot your psychic powers.

I have a computer program that takes a one minute sample and extrapolates the entire album from it. It's pretty helpfull actually.

I think that's how Deftones write their albums.

But seriously, I've never listened to Kamelot, they always sounded a bit boring and Power Metal for me (no doubt I'll have 30 people telling me I'm wrong) but I'll pick this album out and give it a few listens. :)
I only like ablums that I can xanascholithoun.

The clips sound great. I'm really happy they're going in this direction. The sound is unique enough and really suits them. I'm happy to see them take a few more steps away from traditional power metal, as those elements always felt weak to me. they were always best with the dark, baroque, goth stuff.

Listened to the medley, the first two songs bored me a bit (though I did really like the electronic parts at the beginning of both of them, and I hope to see more of that across the album), I liked the two that came after it.

After hearing the clips, I'm more hopeful. The music sounds great, and most of the vocals sound good, but some of the melodies seem a bit out of place. I hope Khan hasn't gotten into a rut like many vocalists have.

I discovered March Of Mephisto this weekend. I blacked out at how amazing it was live at Sweden Rock '06 with all the fire during the chorus.

The edited/live version of that song is a monster. The keyboard solo drags it down in my opinion, I'm glad they don't play it live.

One thing I never understood is why Shagrath didn't join them for their DVD of that song. They had Snowy Shaw get up there and act evil, but didn't scream anything. And they were in Norway, damn you Shagrath, you would have ruled, as you do in the video.

Didn't mind the Jens keyboard solo, but I don't miss it not being there.

That part on the DVD made  :rollin  Love Snowy a lot but  :lol

Here's samples from every track:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w6tWEf8a-g0
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GK7l9l41uvs

Based on the samples (obviously can't judge the songs as a whole yet):

Really like how The Zodiac, Hunter's Season, Necropolis, Seal of Woven Year, Once Upon a Time and Thespian Drama sound.

Didn't care for The Great Pandemonium, If Tomorrow Came, or House On A Hill.

Dear Editor sounds like it's just going to be a lead in to The Zodiac, so no judgment.

However... every part of Poetry For The Poisoned (the songs) sounded great, it's sure to be epic, might rival Memento Mori as a unified whole.

I liked them all actually.

Whatever the first one was on the 2nd video, it didn't sound too promising, but it was only a few seconds, so I'll hope.

Oh, My Train of Thoughts. Yeah, that didn't leave enough of an impression for me to even remember its existence :rollin

I have high hopes for this album nonetheless, considering the rest of the samples :tup
