While the video and new cover look amazing and insane, the music really sounded a lot like Ghost Opera stuff. Oh well. I'll get it anyway.

I don't know, that footage definitely got me hard.
It's not just "oh hey, look, it's the Kamelot riff again".
They are actually writing new sounding songs. I can't wait to see the full video.
I actually really like how layered the track sounds. I'm a fan of industrial-like elements, so I'm all for that approach.

The one riff he did (you all know which one) was pretty cool. But as soon as the vocals came in....it seriously just sounded like another Ghost Opera song. I hope the album isn't as Ghost Opera as that sample, though it probably will be.

I'm gonna be honest on this, and please dont hate me.

The cover looks interesting, but I dont really like it that much.
The music video did look pretty good.
The album title...I hate it. Sounds really bad.

You know, it would save you tons of time to just type "Insert fail here" anytime you post.

The album title is the most awesome part.

I don't really have an opinion on it. It has a very Kamelot feel to it, like The Black Halo and Ghost Opera (let's take something pleasant and PUT A DARK TWIST TO IT LOLOL)

The video looks incredible! The song samples sound good as well, pretty much as expected. I'm not sure what you mean about sounding like Ghost Opera adami, stylistically it was no different to either of the previous albums, it just had less character and energy (IMO).

I was talking about Ghost Opera.

The clips sound good, particularly the first one. But they're only short clips, all we can really say is that the style doesn't appear to have changed from the last 3 albums.

Black Halo and earlier had a great sense of energy and excitment, Ghost Opera was more midpaced and lacked any form of energy, also Khans vocals were often times lacking the catchiness that he usually had and his lines felt a bit more forced. This applies to what I heard, so thus I compare it to Ghost Opera.

Wtf, you heard a one-minute clip (well, two clips really), most of which was build-up. How can you tell anything from that?

Oh wait, I forgot your psychic powers.

I have a computer program that takes a one minute sample and extrapolates the entire album from it. It's pretty helpfull actually.

That's pretty awesome. You could just write a really amazing one-minute sample and then use it to extrapolate an amazing album for you. YOU COULD BE FAMOUS!

With great power comes great responcibility dude.

But, DT used this program once. They entered in the 20 something minute version of Metropolis 2 and it pooped out the whole album. They were too scared to repeat it.

I was so hoping that you'd provide me with that exact line. Thanks for not disappointing! :tup

Looking forward to this. I only have Ghost Opera, but I'll eventually get more (including Poetry For The Poison).

Dude, get Karma, Epica, Fouth Leagacy and The Black Halo.  All four of these blow Ghost Opera out of the water.

Yep. Epica is their best and one of the greatest power metal albums of all time. Most people will tell you The Black Halo is their best effort, and while I used to love that album it's begun to bore me a bit aside from a few select songs. Still, definitely give you a listen. Can't go wrong with Karma or The Fourth Legacy either.

But if you like live stuff, get the One Cold Winter's Night DVD. :metal :metal

Don't listen to that man, Black Halo is the best album of the last 5 years by far :P

Karma is my other favorite. I would very much like to hear an album on par with those 2. Here's hoping.

Dear God, man, it's good, but you must have not listened to many albums from the last five years :o I could probably name over fifty albums that are (subjectively, whatever) better.

Edit: Also The Black Halo came out more than five years ago :neverusethis:

Karma is a close second for me.

I have purchases at least 50 new release albums in the last 5 years. I like Black Halo over all of them. Honestly, Black Halo is in my top ten records of all time.

Fine, 5 years and 5 months then sir :P

Epica  >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Rest of Kamelot's discography.

Those four are definitely the best, but Epica is so far out in front it's not funny.

I think The Black Halo has something to say about that one.

A damn fine album, but Epica kills it IMHO.

None of their albums come close to Epica. Karma at its best is equal, but not as consistent all the way through.

Karma is amazing, definitely not as consistent, I wouldn't say it's equal to Epica, IMO not many power metal albums come close to Epica.
