Oh, You Go Now is weird man.  Another Permanent Address and When You Drive especially.

Weird? Is that all? You just named my two favorite songs by CK; surely they had more of an impact than simply "weird". But maybe not, I might just be one of the few that loves these, however I can't see how anyone can't hear how majestic and transcending the music makes one (at least me) feel. Every time I listen to the above songs, mainly WYD, I become completely calm and clear minded, its truly amazing. Even if I've had the shittiest day (that isn't near over) and can't seem to clear my head of all the shit going on, I can put this on and my heart rate will drop, I'll stop feeling so scatter brained, and everything will simply stand still. To call it an awesome accomplishment is understating just a tad.

Actually I used to really love both of those songs.  I just associate them with a bad time, when they weren't exactly helpful in making me feel better about it.

Ah, I know where you're coming from. Sadly that has happened with quite a few songs I like very much as well, and I suppose it cannot be helped. Lucky for me these two songs haven't had such treatment...yet. Hopefully you can get back into them one day and forget those memories.

Kevin is the man.  I love Dead Air For Radios the most.  That album just clicks for me.  GMH is my least favorite only cause his vocals are sparse and buried in the mix.  I love Kevin's voice and like it in the forefront.

Hey, everyone.  I just posted an interview at the The Mooreatorium with Dogu Yucel, the Turkish writer and author of Hayalet Kitap (Ghost Book).  The book inspired the 2004 film "Okul (School)," which featured a soundtrack by Kevin Moore.  Yucel also wrote the script for "Okul" and "Kucuk Kiyamet," a 2006 Turkish film that was also scored by Moore.  For that movie, Moore was nomminated for a SIYAD movie award.  In the interview, Yucel talks about how he initially approached Moore for the movie projects and how the films were received by Turkish movie critics.  Check it out!

Yesterday I got my first Chroma Key album, "Graveyard Mountain Home." Last night I watched the DVD, and that album is absolute fucking GOLD.

I've been listening to it nonstop.

Just got Dead Air for Radios, and am currently listening to Undertow. It's very dark, and yet weirdly hypnotic, and I'm loving it so far. If all remains well for the rest of the album, I'll be sure to get You Go Now soon.

Is there any place to get "You Go Now" that won't cost me $30?

Not really, unless you want to get the download edition. That said, it's totally worth it. It's a brilliant album.

I hope it's as minimalistic as GMH. God I'm loving this album.

I'm not sure I'd really call it minimalistic. It's a very relaxes, atmospheric album. At the same time, I haven't really gotten into GMH, so take my opinion for what it's worth.

Just get it from iTunes for $10 or whatever it is.

Edit: Oh, not even; it's $8.91 on iTunes.  It's a really really great Kevin Moore album, but I wouldn't shell out $30 for an album even when Kevin rejoins Dream Theater and they make the best follow-up to Awake conceivable.

I wouldn't call either album minimalistic. But they're both firmly part of the Chroma Key lineage.

So I finally listened to Chroma Key, and Undertow is amazing. These albums are super hard to find, and I've got free amazon credit for 2 more songs, (used one on Undertow) could people please list what they think CK's 2 best songs are? Thanks  :)

I didn't want to spend a lot and it was the only one that wasn't $25.

I dunno if you have it now, but I'm just ordering these two CD's now (Dead Air for Radios, while possibly my favorite album ever, is a BITCH to find cheap) and You Go Now is only $15 on his site now, instead of $25.

This thread needed a bump anyway.  ;D

Great music for driving in the middle of the night.

Me: "How?"

Chroma Key may just be my favorite band. Everything is consistently amazing. That goes for all of Kevin Moore's stuff in OSI as well, though that project has a few songs here and there that don't hold my interest.

Recently been exposed some to Chroma Key, more specifically Graveyard Mountain Home.
It wasn't what i had expected, i thought it would be something instrumental keyboard-based (like Bass Communion-ish), but i still found the result to be pleasantly surprising.
Need to give it more plays, but i really like it after only 2-3 plays.
Very chill and relaxing indeed.

Memory Hole is definitely incredible. Ghost Book is just as good. I pooped the first time I heard the piano theme on it, which is the motif from Sad Sad Movie.

Yeah, Shine is great. There aren't too many memorable songs on it but it was a soundtrack so that is to be expected. Great background music!

I think Dead Air for Radios is my favourite. Although my absolute favourite song is Another Permanent Address - genius !!!
What I love about DAFR is the freedom, it takes real courage to leave something successful (DT), the friends you grew up with and just follow your own journey.
and this album, to me, tells that story.
Its what MP could never understand.... but if he really listened to this album, it had all the answers.

P.S
Shine is amazing also !

Shine is really beautiful, but it's apparently sold out.  Hopefully, it goes on sale again at some point.  DAFR is pure magic to me.  The first five songs on that disc are just amazing.
