Hey Mebert, no matter how many times I watch it, your Hell Mary video gives me chills. Good job.

Thanks, but it's not mine!  Kevin created it and released it on his Chroma Key website, I believe, back in the late 1990s after Dead Air For Radios was released.  My friend Phil, a fellow huge CK fan, saved it on his hard drive for many years and passed it along to me at some point.

Anyone going to the Joilet, IL, show for Fates Warning on Nov. 15?  That's the closest one to Kevin's current whereabouts.  He might pop in to see Jim, Ray and Joey.

I'll be there.  That thought definitely crossed my mind.

If I had a chance I would definitely go. I would love to shake hands with Kevin, or even just wave at him in the distance, or even discretely watch and thoughtfully smile. :)

If you can you should stalk him politely and when he walks out for a smoke or coffee you walk past him, silently whistling the piano theme from SDV, casually, and just ignore him and move on. And never bother him again :P

Kevin in selling some cassette tape versions of the first chroma key demo tape.  They are probably all gone by now.  Check his facebook page for the link.

Just bought the colorblind CD single from him.  I downloaded it a while back thinking I would never find a hard copy so I was extremely happy that I just happened to be on facebook when he posted the sale.  Within 10 minutes, all 8 copies had been sold.

I'm pretty sure I have an autographed copy of one of these when it was originally released, but it doesn't seem to be with the rest of the Kevin related CDs (Oh..wait. it's sandwiched in the middle of Dead Air For Radios and You Go Now...hard to see.)

Yeah!  I've had one in my drawer for about 15 years now and have never worn it.  I'm curious how much it will go for when the auction is complete.

This isn't exactly a new intie, but I've never seen Steven Wilson acknowledge Kevin before: https://www.discordmagazine.com/steven-wilson-the-definitive-interview/

In terms of collaborations, I would think it would be very interesting to have you and Kevin Moore (OSI, Chroma Key, former Dream Theater keyboardist) collaborate on something

I’ve only know Kevin quite peripherally, I’ve only heard the album I worked on him with and I remember that I enjoyed working on him on that first record. I love his voice, which is why I didn’t understand why he wanted me to sing on “Shutdown” *laughs*. He is obviously a very creative musician.

Yeah and Gavin Harrison (Porcupine Tree drummer) worked with him on the last two records, they’re pretty decent

Oh yeah I remember seeing that, I should check them out.
A collaboration between SW and KM would be awesome :o On the other hand, I think Kevin might feel more comfortable making another OSI album with Jim or working alone than starting a new project with someone else.

I'd love to see kevin collaborate with some other well-known prog musicians, instead of the lesser-known artists he's been making guest appearance with recently.

Kevin Moore + Steven Wilson?

I'd die

of depressing music

but I'd die happy
I just don't understand what they were trying to achieve with any part of the song, either individually or as a whole. You know what? It's the Platypus of Dream Theater songs. That bill doesn't go with that tail, or that strange little furry body, or those webbed feet, and oh god why does it have venomous spurs!? And then you find out it lays eggs too. The difference is that the Platypus is somehow functional despite being a crazy mishmash or leftover animal pieces

OHHHHH SHIT!

This looks like it might be a remaster and/or re-release of Kev's amazing Memory Hole album. It's a whole lot of samples, ambiance, and awesomeness. Hmmm...very interesting.

Yeah, I'm very interested in what'll be happening with this... It's a fairly old release so I'm guessing it may just be a re-release, but that would still be awesome considering my copy is very damaged and skips a lot.. I've got it digitally but...with people/bands like Kev, I love to still have the hard copies, even if I still use my iPhone for music mostly.

Kevin recently started a Bandcamp page where you can buy Shine and he said he may add some older stuff there in the future, so maybe this means Memory Hole will be available soon. I haven't heard that release, but I'm definitely interested in it!

BTW, does anyone else think the Tumblr blog, Bandcamp page and the sale of various CK stuff may be a sign of something new coming up? :caffeine:

Memory Hole is on his Bandcamp right now! You can stream the first five tracks and see if it's your thing.

And yeah, I do think so. Funny thing about his Tumblr blog, there's a tiny colony of KM fans on Tumblr, and none of us are reblogging what he posts so far because we're too starry-eyed to interact with the blog :rollin

The Tumblr blog is pretty unusual.  I don't use Tumblr, but his posts are all over the place, lol.  I wish he would be more direct sometimes and less enigmatic.  But I guess then he wouldn't be Kevin Moore.

Yes indeedy. I've never seen it since I don't do social media but I can imagine his posts are mostly for fun. It's interesting that he'd randomly post a cover for an obscure album of his past though. Maybe he just wanted to get it out there a bit moore? Even for Moore fans, Memory Hole is an oddity, but I myself love it, but it did take me a while to get into it; though once I did I was enamored. I really hope there's something more to it but I think it may just be him doing...his thing and just putting it out in cyberspace.

I'm guessing he's still knee-deep in medical teachings.

It's not that unusual for Tumblr, and it's not that different from his Facebook page.

What's a little worse than that is that he shares a name with a porn photographer, so his "tag" is both full of music posts and full of... smile. I hope he doesn't try to look himself up on Tumblr :lol
