Covers you would like to see DT do.
« on: June 12, 2010, 03:40:54 PM »
I'd like to see DT cover:

Symptom of the Universe by Black Sabbath
It was there right before our eyes, we were blind not to realize
In the rush to be globalized we signed away our freedom
We forgot how to criticize, we were scared to be demonized
As the truth was neutralized we lost the art of reason.

Non-prog - Love to Love (UFO), Into the Lungs of Hell (Megadeth), Mr. Scary (Dokken)

Prog - Natural Science (Rush), Neue Regel (Queensryche), Knights of Cydonia (Muse)
As a basic rule, if you hate it, you must solely blame Portnoy. If it's good, then you must downplay MP's contribution to the band as not being important anyway, or claim he's just lying. It's the DTF way.

Wu-Tang Clan - Shame On A Nigga

I would like to see them do this just to see the reactions on the audience's faces.
Cole: "Ow I just got hit in the balls"
Me: "How?"
Cole: "Well you know when you try to scratch your balls, and you scratch too hard?
I'll admit sometimes I want to listen to Dragonforce.

In my head, James Labrie is imitating the voice of ODB. And it's glorious.

I think Hocus Pocus would really be awesome. They could have ridiculously awesome solo sections for everybody.

I honestly think it would be cool if they played some of JLBs solo stuff. I mean, Myung has learned random LTE riffs for DT, I would love to see either a Mullmuzzler or JLB solo song played by them.

"Oops I Did It Again" - Britney Spears

I mean, if Marillion could pull off "Toxic", this would be a treat to see as a compliment. Maybe a bunch of prog bands can start doing covers of Spears' songs, just as a gaff... then compile them on a cooperative compilation. I'd buy it.

Any Symphony X song. Probably Masquerade or Sea of Lies. I want to see if JLB and JP can keep up.

Andrew W. K. - It's Time To Party (It's such a short song. They could just start playing it mid way through any song then go back.)
Avenged Sevenfold - A Little Piece Of Heaven
Meat Loaf - Bat Out Of Hell
Coheed & Cambria - The Light And The Glass (Just imagine James doing a mock Claudio voice.)

::)

But I second the vote for Symphony X. Paradise Lost would probably be my first choice.

Children of Bodom already covered that.  I think the real WTF cover would be having them cover a boy band like N'SYNC.  We'd get to hear JMX sing!
