Controversial or not, this was one of the most impressive videos I've ever seen and the song kicks ass. Love that femal chant in the last chorus, and how it suddenly just stops with only the piano. I wanted that chorus to go on forever.

Just watched the video.

Amazing. Great song, insanely amazing video. Then I read the English translation of the lyrics and I felt like I understood them just through the song/video.

Amazing song. My German's still pretty shitty, but I'm getting better, and as far as I understand, it's describing a sort of love/hate relationship with Germany.

Nope, the German and English words are just the same.

Wow, so much detail in this video.

Did anyone notice that on the Nazi camp scene, not all the prisoners being hanged are Jews?

Paul Landers has the star of David on his chest. Ollie Riedel has a pink triangle: homosexual. Lindemann and Flake, couldn't see.

I looked it up, and it looks like Till is also marked with a "Jew sign". But I don't know the difference between the red/yellow and only yellow star.
Flake seems to have one for "asocial": https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_triangle_(badge)
And Oliver, as you mentioned correctly, is labeled homosexual.

Anyway, I still haven't heard the song yet, but I've seen the video a couple of times without sound. You might call me crazy, but I think it's the best music video I've ever seen.

Great poppy lead single and album opener. But I hope it is an outlier and doesn't represent the full album.

You're right, Till is also marked with star of David. The red/yellow star means political prisoner/jew.  Politcal prisoner = social democrats, socialists, communists, anarchists, rescuers of Jews, freemasons, etc.
Does Flake have a black or brown triangle? Black triangle = "asocial"; brown triangle = "gipsy".

Again: really amazing video!

I don't mind minimalism, but this one doesn't really do it for me. So at this point, I just want the music to be decent, and so far I'm very happy with that single.

It's interesting.  My first thought was that it was a rather simple, boring cover.

Richard made a comment in an interview recently about how fans focus on the live show and the pyro element of the band, rather than discuss the band's actual music.  So they'd have to really focus and write a new album with great songs to bring the focus back to their music.  I'm expecting this to be their final album, so it's actually a pretty neat statement.   It's a self-titled record.  Rammstein.  A picture of a match.  Pyro, fire.  It sums up exactly who they are.

The samples really sound cool - I love the riffs that they've previewed.

I know that Richard mentioned that it will probably be their last album, but a few weeks ago, Till said more or less the opposite. I will look for the interview later.

Deutschland is a very, very good song imo. One of Rammstein's best.
Radio on the other hand might be in the bottom 10. The only thing I like about it is the synth.

I think this is the first time I turn off a new album by one of my top 5 bands before I listen to it all the way through, these songs sound like a bunch of Rosenrot and LIFAD b-sides.

So here's what's going to happen tomorrow:
I pre-ordered the 2LP version at the local store (I live in a small town and there's no record shops here, so I had to do it in an electronic market). It opens 9 am tomorrow, which means I will be standing there 6 minutes before 9 am. A 5 litre barrel of Radeberger is already sitting in my fridge. I'll have two friends over and we will skip everything we have on that day in university (statistics module pfff) to day drink and celebrate the day we've been waiting for for 10 years.

People have been able to buy the CD in several small Eastern European towns since yesterday, they've been posting selfies with the CDs over R+ fb groups. The whole album has been uploaded a few times to youtube last night before being taken down, I haven't checked today.

What an album! I didn't really care for Liebe ist.. for reasons unknown to me, but I've always enjoyed the band's sound, especially Mutter and Reise, Reise. This is, again, spectacular. The sonics are incredibly pleasant, it has their signature heaviness and Til Lindemann.. what can I say. This band is just on another level. Excellent lyrics, atmospheres and songwriting. That's what this album underlines the most: Yes, they're singing german over incredibly mechanical heavy metal riffs, but there's plenty of depth to be found for those who are willing to listen.

Puppe just literally melted my face off.

So far, I don't like as much as LIFAD.  Definitely not as heavy, aside from the first handful of tunes.  Then the disc just completely peters out.  I'll have to give it some more listens, but only the first 3-4 songs really do anything for me.

I think it starts off strong, gets kind of tedious in the middle and then picks up again towards the end. So far I'm liking it, but it's yet to be revealed which of the songs are truly great. One thing is certain, LIFAD was light years ahead of this one, no contest.

I'm excited to listen to it admittedly. Fun fact about me: Herzeleid and Sehnsucht were the first two records I bought for myself at age 7.

The vocals are so good and fitting with the lyrics in Puppe, might be my favourite vocal performance on any Rammstein album.

Guess Im in the minority but I can't stand those raspy vocals on Puppe. It's the only song I skip.
The rest of the album is A+. A great mix of the Rosenrot/Reise Reise and Herzeleid/Sehnsucht styles.

They'd probably annoy me if I didn't understand the lyrics, but the fit amazingly well if you can understand German, imo.
