Off the top of my head...

Games:

Alchemy
Fruit Ninja
Angry Birds
City Jump
Any of the emulators (Gameboid, PSX4DROID etc.)
Robo Defense
Poke A Mole
ExZeus Arcade

Apps:

Google Goggles
FML Widget (:neverusethis:)
Google Translate
Retro Camera
AK Notepad
Ebuddy (best multi IM client on Android)

I can think of some others but unless you're in the UK, they're probably not very useful to you :neverusethis:

For UI tweaks, I love:

Beautiful Widgets (time, weather, temp, some toggle widgets)
Power Control Widget (vastly superior power control widget to stock, appearance and number of toggles is customizeable)
Launcher Pro (adjust number of screens, and different launcher dock...single best thing I've put on my phone)
WidgetLocker (put widgets on your lock screen)
Apps Organizer (can put folders of apps on your screen, saving alot of real estate and reducing clutter)

Games:
Angry Birds
RoboDefense

General:
^3 (media player)
Dolphin Browser HD (beats the hell out of the stock Moto Browser)
Facebook
Handcent (SMS)
Touchdown ($20, exchange email client)
To-do task manager (best one out there by far...absolutely destroys Astrid)
SystemPanel (good application manager, and has a "kill all applications widget for the rare times it's needed)
DroidLight (uses LED flash as a flashlight)
mNote (notes to self)
Mint (personal finance)
Google Sky Map

The phone already comes with an alarm clock that can do that, or at least the one that comes with the Cliq and the G2 are able to.

https://www.engadget.com/2010/11/13/netflix-headed-to-select-android-devices-early-next-year/

Quote
Netflix has always been something of a fickle beast, lavishing treats upon just one platform at a time, but now that iOS, Windows Phone 7 and every game console under the sun are streaming its video, the firm's finally turned its gaze on Android. Come early 2011, Netflix will appear on "select Android devices," according to the company's official blog, which also promises a "standard, platform-wide solution" for Android in the unspecified future. What took so long, and why will Netflix be limited to particular handsets when it first rolls out? "The hurdle has been the lack of a generic and complete platform security and content protection mechanism available for Android," says the blog, stating piracy concerns. Apparently content holders aren't too keen on making movies available unless devices have DRM baked right in, so the solution is equip new phones with padlocks one at a time. Expect next year's high-end Android devices to have "Netflix" as a nice big bullet point.

Edit:

https://www.engadget.com/2010/11/13/googles-gingerbread-androids-are-fully-baked-can-the-os-be-far/

Quote
Continuing with our cookery theme this morning, we now have a full tray of scrumptious-looking gingerbread Android men, courtesy of Google Mobile's Twitter account. The whole world and his poodle already know that Gingerbread, Android's next iterative update that's presently expected to be given the numerical identifier of 2.3, is coming some time soon, but now Google's taken to fanning the flames of anticipation with some home cooking. What could it mean? Well, if you're an optimist, it means Android's about to receive its update imminently, but if you're a pessimist, you'll look at that Christmas-themed red and green attire and foretell of another month of waiting and thumb-twiddling. Either way, though, this seems to confirm Gingerbread is on track to land at some point before we welcome in 2011. Which can only be a good thing.

Today has not been a good day, I was at home depot getting into my truck to leave and my phone my galaxy s fell out of my pocket. I saw it fall in slow motion as the corner hit the curb.

I thought "whew, didn't touch the screen" sure enough the impact cracked the screen in the corner. It's barely visible. :sadpanda:

How it is compared to the standard navigation app? I don't seem to have any issues using the default.
I felt its length in quite a few places.

Anyone else uses Waze?

https://en.waze.com/download/android_download

The first I've heard of it. I've always just stuck with Google Maps. I'll give it a shot tomorrow though and see how I like it.

The idea behind this service is that you tell everyone in the Waze community where there is a traffic jam (you can take a picture and upload it immediately so everyone can make a better idea of how bad it is) so a friend of yours (or just a member of the community) can avoid that route, how fast you are driving, the condition of the road, etc.

There's another app that is just like that, but also has dots for speed traps and traffic jams, but I can't remember the name now.

Now I may be wrong about this but isn't google maps doing something similar.

They track people who use there GPS service so when there is a slow down in traffic it's automatically updated on the google maps app.

I know they were talking about it, not sure if they're using it yet but their traffic indicator is pretty damn good.

So have any of you guys used HeyTell?

Basically, it turns your phone into a walkie-talkie so instead of sending text messages, you send voice messages. It's awesome for when you're driving.

Of course they are, you have to pay for Beautiful Widgets (well worth it for $2, though) and you can download a free version of LauncherPro, but I don't really know the difference between the lite and the payed version, lite version's awesome anyway.

Nope it's not latitude, that allows users to track where you are. Google said they would just use data from your phones location if you were using it as a GPS, although maybe you do have to enable Latitude for them to track, I dunno.

The only thing I can think of that LauncherPro Paid does off the top of my head is allow to resize widgets and icons.

That's correct...I got the name crossed up with something else.

There's no way to get a screenshot w/o root, is there?  I'd love to show the utter sexiness of how I've got my homescreen configured using those UI changes...

And yes, they're all in the market.

The one kicker about the free version of LP is that you can't resize widgets, even the native Moto ones.  Hence, I upgraded to the Plus (for all of $3).

I don't need to do that because the new Motoblur has that (the only good thing Motoblur ever did).

I'm saying that you actually lose the ability to resize the Motoblur widgets when you use the free LP...you only get it back when you go for the paid version.
