Damn that's over the top

Personally, i think that as long as nobody is doing any video recording they should allow cameras in.

I mean, are you gonna take away everybody's cell phone too? Almost every cell phone these days has a camera in it.

The personally will tell you to use your camera phone as they realize its  unenforceable to take your phone away

Did they play Pull Me Under/Metropolis ?
Jesus Christ himself* comes down amidst a choir of 2 billion angels singing Handel's Hallelujah chorus. As KrotchRaut shred randomly on guitars made of dragon bones using picks made from God's kidney stones, Jesus heals a blind woman who promptly gives birth onstage to a creation of pure light.

*Yes, Jesus Christ himself. Nothing less will do.

Great seeing Scrub, PLM, wkiml, 2timer, and numbers at the show. Amazing show but I'm so freaking knackered and now I have to go to sleep, get up, go to school, leave from there for NYC, and then get home late again and go to school the next day. Going to be brutal.

pretty good show I just got home like 3 hours ago. The ride home sucked serious ass and balls. Stuck in traffic at the George Washington bridge for literally 4 hours, got home at 6:30 but all is well!

I actually looked for Nick and you guys, but gave up when I saw how long the line was getting.

Great show. Dream Theater sounded amazing. Iron Maiden sounded pretty good, but still put on a hell of a show.

I have no idea, since it was my first time seeing the song live. However, James destroyed Home. In a good way.

Too bad the sound was so terrible for both bands. Mud, mud mud.

My husband and I said the same thing. That venue has terrible acoustics for metal... then again I think most outdoor venues do. But Holmdel does seem to be much worse than Camden. I also think they had it cranked up a bit too much. You couldn't hear any separation or intricacies at all and that's really a shame because the uninitiated didn't get the full DT experience.

Maiden are always a little bit on the muddy side, but there was definitely a serious drop in quality in sound at Holmdell, compared to when I saw Somewhere Back in Time in Camden. As far as DT goes, I'm guessing most initiated couldn't really hear what was going on, but the crowd's reaction was pretty good.

If anything, DT seemed to go on a little bit too long for the uninitiated. Things were great during As I Am, ARoP, and Home, but you could tell they were wearing on a lot of the crowd by the time Constant Motion hit (hell, they were wearing on me at that point, too  ;D).

Thankfully, Pull Me Under seemed to really get everyone hyped up.

And, I was wearing a Maiden shirt. I didn't think much of it at the time, but apparently Mike isn't big on that!

As far as the sound goes, I was a little agitated that Bruce wasn't loud enough. There were times that he was completely drowned by the guitars. I don't know whether that's a soundboard issue or an acoustics issue, but it was annoying in some places

Bruce always seems to be a little buried, or at least he has been the 3 times or so I've seen them. Honestly, as much as I love Bruce, it's kinda better that way. I can see how it'd be annoying, but Bruce doesn't really sing the verses of a lot of songs so greatly anymore. At least he hits all the important notes, and they're completely audible. Also, where were you sitting?

Section 304, far left.

Visually, the seats were fantastic. If you're in the amphitheater I don't think there's a bad seat.

I was 8th row dead center and DT sounded fine...during Maiden Bruce's vocals dropped out quite a bit

I thought they did an okay job on DT's sound except for JR could have been a little louder, but, but yeah, the whole thing probably could have come down a bit. The soundguys seemed like they just wanted to crank the guitars up for both bands.
If they would have knocked them down a little, Bruce would have sounded much, much better, because I thought he did a hell of a good job. I did think he would mention DT at some point, but I didn't hear it if he did. To me he's a bit hard to understand sometimes. Overall I was pretty happy with it. Maiden had an awesome looking stage, too.

I haven't heard or read much in other threads, but how did the Maiden fans react to DT?

The one concert I heard about, a few found them  boring and that they made too long of songs

I thought so too. MP didn't. Birch pointed out his twitter to me after the show:

I dunno...the NJ crowd did NOT feel like DT "hometurf" 2nite...we need you guys to give DT a special, memorable homecoming 2morrow at MSG!!!

I think he was pumping the fans for Madison Square Garden. However, I have found MP to be a little annoying throughtout this opening act leg of the tour. Just my opinion
