Hey, everyone:
Just a quick note to wish a happy birthday to Kevin Moore! It seems like yesterday when KM was in his mid-to-late 20s having written "Space-Dye Vest" and leaving the band to create Chroma Key. Time flies. When you look at Kevin's career, he was really a groundbreaking keyboardist and somewhat of a pioneer for the genre and instrument. Before I&W, there was no music that sounded like DT and Kevin's songwriting, playing and solos were a large part of that. Just looking at "Pull Me Under," his sound in that "greatest hit" alone helped to put prog metal on the map. He did something musically that no one else was doing. It's easier to achieve success after someone has opened the door. Kevin helped open the door for other keyboardists -- and other prog bands in general.
On a separate note, one of the forum members at The Mooreatorium has tried to organize a 24-hour online "birthday party" starting at midnight that consists of a Kevin Moore-themed radio station and chatroom in celebration of his 43rd birthday on May 26. Fans in various timezones will be stopping in throughout the day. This is sort of a grassroots thing, so have reasonable expectations. I offered to mention it here.
