I know there's some other Skeletonwitch fans out there, it's time to don your booty shorts as they've got a new album on the way!

For those of you who aren't familiar with them, they're a blackened thrash band from Athens, OH, and their malicious mix of black metal and thrash leave a path of destruction in their wake. They've released three albums through Prosthetic so far, 2007's Beyond The Permafrost, 2009's Breathing The Fire, and 2011's Forever Abomination, Serpents Unleashed being their fourth.

Serpents Unleashed was produced by Kurt Ballou in Godcity studios and features gorgeous artwork from John Dyer Baizley, which is a first since Beyond the Permafrost.

SAw them open for ghost last month. While i'm not usually into that style of metal, I could tell they were a good band and were fun to see live.

More Cruel Than Weak has to be by far the best song they've ever written, holy butts. What a fantastic album.

I'm seeing them headline a small club near me Monday night.  I don't have any of their CDs yet but I've heard quite a bit and I'm looking forward to checking them out live.

Yep -- the "Kids Interview _____" band interview videos are awesome.  Have you seen the "Kids Interview Slayer" one?  Tom Araya starts off looking so uncomfortable, then seems more like a Dad by the end of it.

Really breaks my heart, Chance is without a doubt one of the best frontman and vocalists out there in Extreme Metal right now. Kudos to him for taking responsibility and working to better himself. Really a shame that the band seems to be moving on without him though, and never bothered to inform him. I mean for fucks sake his brother Nathan is a band member. Really hope they can patch things together and become buddies again because Skeletonwitch isn't Skeletonwitch if Chance is gone.
