so yea

head > korn has been confirmed

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sODDPWkVzXQ

quality sounds better here: https://www.damntheradio.com/fans/share/attributes/421210&share_id=e8e4c9d5-b4d6-b5b4-a677-547c75abd4d2&src=nf_player

Sounds decent. The vocals sound way better than the atrocity that was Jon Davis trying to "find his new voice" once he realized he'd destroyed his vocal chords by likely using a very amateur technique.

Take A Look In The Mirror was the only album I could get into. Dig and World So Cold were the only songs I liked, and Dan Donegan hasn't gotten better with each album. He keeps playing the Stricken solo over and over. Deftones are awful.

If you could make it only Korn's music, I'd probably like it. From the two songs I've ever heard with Skrillex's involvement, either as the artist or as a collaborator (this one and his own song that had the video for it played during the new Beavis and Butt-Head episode), I gotta say his stuff just sounds like a warmed-over version of late-90s electronica with a whole bunch of wtf chirps and squeals thrown in. There must be more to his sound than the little I've heard because, even as bad as music is these days, I'd be surprised if he earned his place in mainstream culture by being that bad of a one trick pony.

Well, now that they are streaming the new album, I just finished listening to it... and I feel like it could have been a lot better.

I was really ready to embrace this with open arms and love it, but I think I set my expectations a little too high, after really loving the first 2 singles. Sure, its decent, but it could have been really brilliant.

Regardless I think I'm going to pick it up and give it some time to grow on me.

The stream is off Blabbermouth, by the way.

Jonathan Davis recently claimed that Korn invented Dub Step.. if this is true, I take back everything I've said about Korn, and I'm burning my CD's.
Check out my various music projects - I’ve got concept albums, singer/songwriter, rock, metal, prog, and more coming soon:

I like the new release much better than III. Korn just has to keep doing their thing. Hater's certainly pile up fast. If you don't like the band I can understand but the band is much more varied in their styles than people think. If you listen through their catalog the band obviously maintains their sound for the most part but mixes in many different styles. The new release is another example and while I'm not a mega dubstep fan.. the addition of that in this album isn't a stretch.

This is a quote from the Classic Rock magazine website:

Quote
Finally, something of a shock. Korn claimed that The Path Of Totality (Roadrunner) was their journey into dubstep and electronic music. But in actuality, it’s more about progressive metal than anything else. It appears Korn might well have found a way forward.

I haven't checked out any of the new album yet. Does anyone who has heard it feel it's accurate to call it prog metal? Anyway, I am intrigued and will definitely be giving this a listen.

Not progressive metal in the sense that it's full of long songs, widdly wanky solos and cheesy lyrics about hobbits or counts in Tuscany over a time signature only a mathematician could understand.

Progressive as in the true meaning of the word? Absolutely.

It'll just be a fun live show. There will be some most pitting too in the heavier tracks.

Quote
KORN was joined onstage by ex-guitarist Brian "Head" Welch  last Saturday (May 5) at the Carolina Rebellion festival in Rockingham, North Carolina, marking the first time in seven years that KORN  played with Welch, who left the group in 2005. The event, which electrified KORN fans everywhere, has naturally sparked talk of a full reunion with Welch to record and tour. But guitarist James "Munky" Shaffer told The Pulse Of Radio that the band isn't rushing into anything. "The whole thing needs to be approached very delicately, because it's such a fragile thing," he said. "It's just something that has to be super well-planned and it has to come naturally. And our experience with him on Saturday has all started from a positive place, and it wasn't forced and it was just natural. So I think if everything optimistically runs like that, that's all I can hope for. I'm really happy just to reconnect with my old friend."

Welch joined the band onstage to perform its classic song "Blind". According to The Pulse Of Radio, Shaffer later said that Saturday night's reunion was the first contact he had with Welch since his former bandmate left the KORN lineup.

I hope at the very least they can make amends with each other on a personal level. It's always a good thing (Mustaine/Metallica type deal) to make peace whether you move on or get back together.

AFAIK, they have always been fine on a personal level.  I think I remember an interview with Head and him saying that they have been in contact and at least talking for a while.  This is a good sign re the reunion.  I don't see David getting involved but I'm happy to keep Ray.

That's a good setlist.  Those first 4 songs are simply amazing, and Divine has always been one of my favs.  Nothing from 3 which is interseting though as is was suppose to be their return to form album, which we all know it wasn't.

^ Korn III was a terrible terrible album. You can hear some good ideas in the songs - but absolute clueless no-talent hack "producer"

Ross Robinson has removed all the hooks and grooves and done his thing of " pick the worst takes because theyre the most honest"

bullshit.

The man cannot make a good sounding record. Iowa by SLipKnot is a fucking mess with bad playing , spill and lack of clarity all over the shop.

I have to agree. III was a major let down to me and the newest release greatly exceeded my expectations.
