Speaking of Youth', Black Curtains is one of hte most overlooked moshalicious songs ever.

That riff is addicting.

Disintegrators FTW

Agreed!
would have thought the same thing but seeing the OP was TAC i immediately thought Maiden or DT related

Black Curtains > Victory may be one of the best one-two-punch album closers ever.

I think I'm in the minority here, but I actually enjoy KIMB production a whole lot. Brings out the thrashtasticness of the album imo

And it is MILES better than KEA

I wouldn't say ever, but "Victory" is a really cool song.

I don't know..I'd still take Liar-Hook In Mouth over them.
This, if I had to pick a side.

I'll cast my vote for "Captive Honour" > "Ashes In Your Mouth."

I've decided to rid myself of some Megadeth albums I never listen to. Those being: SFSGSW, TSHF, TWNAH, and Risk. I'm torn though. I have an ''original'' copy of KIMB (missing These Boots) and the remaster. I've been searching for the original forever, but still, I never listen to it. I don't even know why I treasure my Megadeth collection so much as they aren't that special to me anymore. So would I be losing out by trading the original or Remaster?

@Zook:  I've traded in CD's at times in my life.  At one point, early in my Christianity, I sold off virtually all of my CD's just because I needed to re-center my life and get away from a lot of my past, and music was a link to that past.  I don't regret that decision at all.  Later, when I started rebuilding the collection, there were times when I sold back some CD's I didn't really listen to or that had ceased to really be "special."  I thought, "why bother keeping this if I don't listen to it, especially since I get get a few bucks toward something else I really do want to listen to?"  Quite a few times, I regretted it down the road when something would make me want to listen to a particular disk or song again.  Take that for what it's worth.

Megadeth is playing tonight near me, and I can't make the show.  BUT, I may make it over to the book store this afternoon where Mustaine will be.  What should I ask him?

Ask him how Daffy Duck is doing. As for my CDs, I make copies of everything I'm getting rid of, but the collection part is what gets me. If it wasn't for that damn Eddie pic on the side of the Maiden remasters, I wouldn't own the Blaze albums. I don't know, without the albums I mentioned, my Megadeth collection doesn't look as nifty. But then I should only have the ones I like and listen to. DAMN MY COLLECTORNESS!

Ok I'm gonna keep everything up to Risk. That album has a clusterfuck of oddness, but I just can't let it go. As for KIMB, although the remaster sounds better, having the original means alot to me... For some reason. It would mean so much more if it had These Boots cause then I'd have something really rare. Anyway, I found it used in excellent condition and all it needs is a new case. Even though they've gotten better, Megadeth kind of died with Risk. Nothing after that album grabs my attention. TWNAH was crap and TSHF got old really quick. UA had Sleepwalker and Endgame didn't have anything.

Wrong, everywhere. Risk is awesome, TWNAH is one of their best albums, TSHF has some great songs on it, UA has Sleepwalker, Washington is Next, Gears of War, and Burnt Ice. Endgame has practically every song on the damn album.

I agree with UMH that The World Needs A Hero is good.

The System Has Failed grew a lot on me, and I really like it now. The standouts being "The Scorpion", "Kick The Chair", "Blackmail The Universe", "Die Dead Enough", and "Back In The Day". All the others are good as well.

As for Endgame, I think it's definitely their best by far in a while. To me, all songs are on a pretty equal level, but "Dialectic Chaos" into "This Day We Fight!" deserves special recognition.

I must be in the minority because I hate UA. TSHF was much, much better, well, at the very least it was interesting. UA just seemed like a bunch of forgettable soloing mixed with Mustaine's terrible lyrics (that are just so horribly godawful, even for Mustaine). I was disappointed when this came out, I was really into Megadeth at the time and UA just.... bleh.

TSHF may not be a thrash metal album, but it's just much, much better IMO.

Risk is good. :)

UA is my least favorite of theirs and then maybe SFSGSW. That album has some great songs, but it's just all over the place in quality.

What the hell, let's rank.

1. Rust in Peace
2. So Far, So Good, So What!
3. Peace Sells...But Who's Buying?
4. Killing is my Business...and Business is Good!
5. Endgame
6. United Abominations
7. The World Needs A Hero
8. Countdown to Extinction
9. Risk
10. Youthanasia
11. The System Has Failed
12. Cryptic Writings

The first 10 are nearly flawless.

I'll Rank these motherfuckers:

1. Rust in Peace
1. So Far, So Good... So What! (I have to listen to both more to decide which one is better)
3. Peace Sells... But Who's Buying?
4. Youthanasia (Haters Gonna Hate)
5. Endgame
6. Killing is My Business... And Business is Good!
7. Countdown to Extinction
8. The System Has Failed
9. Risk
10. United Abominations
11. The World Needs a Hero
12. Cryptic Writings

What surprises me the most is realizing Cryptic Writings is the last, and being still able to have amazing songs like "She-Wolf", "The Disintegrators", "A Secret Place" or "Trust". Guess that's how good Megadeth is :metal

6. Cryptic Writings
7. Countdown to Extinction
8. Risk
9. So Far, So Good... So What!

Still not 100% about these rankings, but I'll give it a shot:

1. Rust in Peace
2. Countdown to Extinction
3. United Abominations
4. The System Has Failed
5. Peace Sells...But Who's Buying?
6. The World Needs a Hero
7. So Far, So Good...So What!
8. Killing is My Business...and Business is Good!
9. Endgame
10. Youthanasia
11. Cryptic Writings
12. Risk

And for everyone interested, I still do intend to start that Megadeth survivor, but my Internet has been on the fritz as of late so I'm waiting for a fix before I start.
