That's the song I sent you for your roulette lol.
I don't hear it, aside from the singer having a snarl, but he has much more of one than Mustaine.

was it? I didn't even look at the song when I saw Control Denied....
but hey you made me feel so guilty now.. because when I turned the song down ( I guess I did) I was determined not to accept songs that I'm familiar with... but then I gave up... so hey.. let's get you back in the game....

send me a 2nd round song....

Listened to Rust in Piece for the first time in a quite a while yesterday. Quite simply, one of the greatest metal albums ever recorded.

Then I watched a portion of Sonisphere 2011 that was on the Palladium channel, and Dave's vocals are downright cringe-worthy these days.

He's made some drastic improvements lately. He was back to sounding reasonably good when I saw him with Motorhead on Gigantour this year. It could just be because they were touring on Rust in Peace for so damned long that it was really doing a number on his voice.
Orion....that's the one with a bunch of power chords and boringly harsh vocals, isn't it?

IMO, if you are listening to Megadeth for the vocals, you've missed the point.  Vocals are not the reason for Megadeth's brilliance.

It might have been better in the '80s, but when I heard Public Enemy No.1, I had a cringeworthy reaction to how bad that song was :x
I don't know, Megadeth have never really synced for me, it's either his vocals or just the overall sound of their songs that I just don't like.  I mean yeah I like some classic songs, but even then....I feel like they shouldn't even be part of the Big 4, along with Slayer...bands like Exodus and Overkill seem to deserve that tag more.  But now a days everyone's doing great, especially Exodus and Overkill that it's nothing to fret over, as they're finally getting their due.

I do too.  But while I love it, I also acknowledge that it is not "good" singing by any stretch.  I mean, what's not to love about a singing style that sounds like Steve Erkl meets Cousin It meets James Hetfield meets Muttley with anger management issues?  Such an unlikely yet likeable style.

I was aiming for a POTY nomination, but I guess "pure genius" is okay.  :)

Youthanasia features Dave's best vocals.

I'm pretty sure I've said that 3 or 4 times in this thread already. But since we're on the subject, it's worth repeating.

THIS!!!

Cryptic Writings has almost as good vocals.

And Youthanasia is a fine album.

Am I dreaming?
My heart pounds my chest
Held for ransom
In a spider's web
Suffocating
No one hears my calls
Never ending
'Till the black curtains fall

And those solos are sooo great!

Addicted to Chaos doesn't get enough love.

Youthanasia is indeed a great album. I still say Risk has Dave's best vocals, but Youth has quite a few great ones, including Addicted to Chaos and Elysian Fields.
