I'm wondering if this had any part of his rapid voice change and how long he's had it? Hopefully it's not too late

My guess this is from eating pussy as many other celebrities have gotten throat cancer from this via HPV.  Apparently that's also very treatable which are the two reasons I am guessing that.

Didn't he have some sort of medical problem with his throat years ago?

If I remember correctly, this is how Michael Douglas got it.

That's something I would want on my tombstone.

David Ellefson's new book came out this week - a sequel to his prior biography.  This one has been really fun to read so far, and I'm only partway through.  It chronicles his years after the Megadeth breakup in 2002, how he came to rejoin the band, and more.

The book features a lot of anecdotes from other musicians and industry personnel dropped into the chapters, so you get an outsider's perspective of the situation that David is explaining from someone who was also there at the time.

Thats great, I'm kind of surprised the band still seems to be going strong for the future.  Like, already touring this winter and as far as I know, they are still scheduled to open for Ozzy's US tour this summer (the one Ozzy cancelled last year) plus Megadeth are still trying to release an album in 2020.  Part of me says maybe they should leave 2020 open for Dave to take his time.  But what do I know?  Maybe he's really doing well and will be perfectly fine for all their plans, which I certainly hope.

Maybe that's a way to keep him commited and motivated, to give him something to long for. Well, it's not that he would go anyway "Well, we don't have a new album coming out, guess I'll die", but keeping him focused on work is great for the morale and to think about something else.

I guess, I just wouldn't want work to be rushing him in a way.  It's not like Megadeth wouldn't be around if he dedicated a full year to recovery.  But I'm no doctor and could completely be off base here.  I did read Bruce Dickinson's book and his chapter about dealing with his own throat cancer makes me thing you need a lot of time for this, especially for a singer.

Did anyone see the news of Ellefson's group with Jeff Scott Soto, simply titled Ellefson-Soto?  I just finished watching their version of Riot's "Swords & Tequila".  Pretty good.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gSDqHiQk0QY

Personally, I'm a little tired of all of these projects.  But, they're two very talented musicians and it's not coming out on Frontiers.  So, I'll keep an open mind.

Ellefson and a guy named Drew Fortier are promoting a book they wrote, and they will release a horror film in October. Drew is an interesting guy as well, and the chat will be with both. I will definitely ask WHAT Dave can reveal about the new album, and about his new project with Jeff Scott Soto.

So she recorded it and sent it to a "friend" who then leaked it online. Sounds like she and her "friend" need to be covered in bees.

And if Ellefson is married then shame on him. At least it appears the woman isn't trying to ruin his life, but place the blame on someone else. Or maybe he payed her to make that statement.

Is it a blemish on Ellefson's character?  Sure.  He always came across as a great dude.  Plus, he's been married for decades.  But, he's an adult.  She's an adult.  This should have no bearing on his standing in Megadeth.  That statement the band released is bullshit.  And, unless Mustaine has been looking for a reason to get rid of Junior, he should be sticking by his guy.

Megadeth's statement was definitely lame. But being a married guy, I'm always disappointed to hear this kind of thing, unless of course his wife doesn't mind.

It's honestly none of our business really.  The only thing wrong is he cheated on his wife, which isn't a good thing, but that's a personal matter, but we also don't know if his wife and him have an open relationship or anything.  The guy's a rock star that travels the world.  It's really a non story IMO and the megadeth statement was lame.

The way people are defending him is really weird to me. It’s bad enough that he cheated on his wife, but it’s undeniably weird that he did this with a 19 year old when he’s nearly 60. Not to mention you’ve got to be really stupid to record yourself wanking and send it to some random girl and not expect it to leak online when you’re a celebrity. I love Ellefson’s playing and I think he’s a huge part of Megadeth’s sound, so I’m not a hater. I’m just really disappointed that this came to light because he seemed like such a cool guy. Not the actions you would expect from a “born again Christian”  :-\

The average guy shouldn't be dumb enough to show face if he's gonna whack off with a stranger online, let alone someone who is widely known across the globe.   :loser: Mustaine and Jizstain may be over once again...

I don't know that I'd call it "weird".  He's human and he did something completely legal.  Is it "morally questionable"?  Sure.  Like we've said, he's married.  Was it dumb to get caught doing that on camera?  Absolutely.  But, once again, it's completely legal.  How many married guys jerk off to porn?  Not really any different.  Just that he did it to a live 19-year old and not a 19-year old porn star.  And, it's definitely not something over which he should lose his place in Megadeth.

It's not a matter of legal that anyone is questioning. You're talking about a guy who needs to uphold an image for his job. People have posters, books, mags, memorabilia with this guy all over the place and now every time they look at it they are going to think of him beating off. It does tarnish the image of the band and as a result, they may very well cut him loose. A teacher has every right to jerk off on camera to a 19 year old too but if it was your math teacher, he'd be collecting unemployment and you know it.
