It is indeed, but to start with something that attracts people to, I'd start with TJR. Next I'd put a Lunar Strain+Subterranean Survivor.

I listened to In Flames for the first time in ages yesterday. It was rather awesome. Good car speakers + sub made it even better

Ironic how STYE has MSS and TQP, easily their best latest songs, and yet most of the album is the worst stuff they've written in their entire career.

Evidently those two were on the Ballmer peak and the others were past it

In other In Flames discussion, what is wrong with the production on A Sense of Purpose? The music sounds so horribly, horribly flat and just..not heavy or punchy at all, even though I know that it should be. Ander's slightly iffy new vocals don't help, but it just sounds so horribly muddy I much prefer it to CC/STYE/RTR though, bring back the proper acoustic interludes! I just wish Anders would have kept his old vocal style.

Not sure I agree, I think the production is fine. The weakest sounding album since Whoracle is RtR, but the music is excellent enough for it not to really matter.

Yeah, RTR has really crappy production. I was listening to it just yesterday, noticed that, and that actually it's gone way down in my rankings of IF albums.

To get the full punch out of ASOP I have to turn the volume right up, something just isn't right.

It has their most epic chorus, and is extremely well written. In Flames never really was a band that had a ton of perfect songs, just a bunch of great ones. And I happen to think that RtR is one of their few perfect ones.

I agree. Another title track that is awesome is Clayman. That's probably my favourite IF song.

I love RTR, it's my favourite along with Jester.  It's just so damn consistent, great songs all the way through, and I can't say that I've noticed anything too bad about the production.

I'd say Satellites and Astronauts is another perfect one.  Love that song.
