I agree. I mean, even Falling Snow!! Such an easy song to put on, and listen the entire way through. Feels half as short as it's length. I am disapoint in Sigz for this oversight, but I can understand his taste and the fact a top 25 list will inevitably leave off some incredible stuff
on par with the anguish one would have from getting unconsensually bent over and buttloved.

Plus, if im not mistaken, Sigz discovered them pretty recently?
If so, i guess its hard to compete with top25 favorite songs ever. :P

I don't think Sigz is that much of an Iain to put a SymphX song in his top 25 ever

Yeah, I just got into AATG like a month ago. Though Falling Snow is fucking amazing, it's too early to decide to whether it's 'all-time' status.

3. Steven Wilson - Collecting Space

An absolutely infectious instrumental piece. From the main guitar line to the kyoto melody to the background atmosphere, this song is wonderful. I really have to give props to all the atmospheric parts – from the subtle strings in the beginning to the high gain guitar that runs in the background throughout most of the song, they add an immense amount to the overall song even though they're not something you might notice on the first listen. Finally, the e-bow and ending solo are both amazing, both because of what's being played but also the incredibly rich tone that's playing it. In the end I love pretty much everything about this song – it's simple but structured well so it doesn't get repetitive, every individual section is not only good but serves to complement the whole, and perhaps most importantly it's catchy and interesting.

Nice choice.

I wouldn't have it my personal Top 20, but it's definitely a cool song.

Probably my favourite on Insurgentes.
Currently listening to:

Anathema - We're Here Because We're Here *****
Kamelot - Poetry For The Poisoned **
Les Discrets - Septembre Et Ses Dernières Pensées ***1/2
Porcupine Tree - Deadwing *****
Symphony X - The Odyssey ****1/2

Sweat, skin, a pulse divine to balance this restless mind.

Sorry to come out as the "malcontent" guy again, but I never got the love for Collecting Space... :P from the bonus songs, The 78 and Port Rubicon are excellent, imo.

Collecting Space is easily the best bonus song, though I would kill to hear Port Rubicon live :tup

2. Devin Townsend - Bend it Like Bender

This is the happiest song ever recorded, simple as that. No matter what I'm doing, no matter how I'm feeling, if I'm listening to this song I can't help but smile uncontrollably. I've listened to this song at least once a day since I first got Addicted, and never, ever, ever, tire of it.

AND OH GOD THIS SONG IS SO HAPPY  :D

PS: In addition to having the happiest song ever, Devin also holds the titles for most uplifting song (Life), most emotionally driven song (Deadhead), and angriest song (pick any SYL, Skeksis maybe).  ;)

He also wrote Ziltoid the Omniscient, which alone makes him one of the coolest people ever.

He's also writing a sequel to Ziltoid alongside writing an acoustic album and an album inspired by the thought "What would happen if I made Skesis heavier?," which makes him cooler than that.

Love seeing that Devin song so high.  I love it to death, too!  I also listen to it almost every day, as well, as it is a mainstay on my workout playlist, and when I listen to Devin at home or in my car, that gets a lot of play.  That song is just all kinds of fun. :hat

Years ago when I first  Devin with Steve Via on The Late show, it threw me off because I didn't like his vocals.  Mabye I should give him another chance.
