Cole: "Ow I just got hit in the balls"
Me: "How?"
Cole: "Well you know when you try to scratch your balls, and you scratch too hard?
I'll admit sometimes I want to listen to Dragonforce.

'progressive' feels insulted that it has been associated with Dragonforce.

Yeah, but I wouldn't be surprised at all to hear someone describing Dragonforce like that.

I'm sure they could get away with the "prog" label, but not "progressive".

I consider "prog" cheesy, samey, Dream Theater-clones who wank with their instruments made for primarily for pseudo-intelligent geeks who think they're awesome because they don't listen to pop/hip-hop.

While I use "progressive" to tag the actual good stuff.

Nah. To me prog is a specific genre, incorporating the 'classic' progressive rock sounding bands. Yes, Genesis, ELP, Marillion, Spock's Beard, Transatlantic, etc. Progressive is more just experimental type stuff. Porcupine Tree, for example, would be progressive but not prog.

Well, I meant prog METAL. Prog rock, I usually think of the bands you described, yeah (who are usually good. Usually).

What exactly is speedcore? I googled it and got a subgenre of techno.

 ???

In the mean time, I'll just make something up. Super fast deathcore without breakdowns (:lol) = speedcore.

*blinks in what*
From a Mega Man Legends island jamming power metal to a Walrus listening to black metal, I like your story arc.
