Cool poster but $20 for shipping seems a bit excessive.

I'd suggest e-mailing the seller directly for a shipping quote.  The eBay shipping calculator has a tendency to ridiculously over-estimate shipping costs for international delivery.  There's no way it should cost $20 to ship a poster.

Very sweet poster.  Are there any posters that size for Awake?  I'd love to find that one day.

I know there's a semi-similar one that exists for Awake, but I think it may have been a European promo thing that's now super rare.  I've only ever seen it once.

I recall seeing a pic once of a 24x36 horizontal poster of the band photo from I&W with the pillars and such.  Ever seen that one?  It might've even been you, Zep.  I can't remember.  Tha twas a sweet poster too.

Yup.  I've got that one.  Used to have it hanging up in my old bedroom at my parents' house.

I pretty much got all of my rare posters from the same guy.  There was a guy who had an unbelievably huge DT collection that he sold off probably about 5 or 6 years ago... he had a ton of crazy rare posters.  No idea where he got them all from, but I bought most of them.  (The one that I didn't get was a really cool ACOS poster... got outbid on that one... and I've never seen it again since).

edit:

You're talking about this one, right?

I usually use frames... I think those were frameless mostly because they were odd sizes and I coudln't find a good way to use frames for them.  Don't remember specicially though... those pics are pretty old.  I don't even live in that house anymore.

I used poster putty on them though, so it doesn't actually damage the posters at all.  That stuff works great.

What I've done in the past is get acid-free paper (scrapbooking type), and then acid-free, removable tape, put the poster on the paper, fit it to a large frame, and do it that way. Has worked fine for a variety of stuff I have (and yes, I've removed them and re-did it again, just to test it all).

But poster putty works too..but doesn't it leave some sort of stain mark?

The blue stuff does, but the white stuff is usually ok.  Either way, its irrelevant at this point, because I now frame pretty much everything that I put up.  (Although the majority of my posters are actually just stored in poster tubes in my closet, as I drastically reduced the number of "band posters" I still have hanging up.

I have a few in my office at home, and we have a few in the den as well. My old apartment (when I was in law school) was covered in framed posters and such. Including the SFAM promo one, signed by the band!

That SFAM promo poster is pretty sweet.  I'm actually considering framing it and putting it up in my office, as its very far from your typical band poster (and most people probably wouldn't even know it was actually a band poster unless they looked at it really closely).

Other than that, the only band stuff I still have up is a sort of album covers collage over my desk:

(the top left framed ticket has since been replaced with a cell from the Forsaken video).

I do have a couple of other small things around my apt... I've got a small framed "Score" poster in my bedroom, which is mostly just there because I have sort of a brown/gold theme going in there, and it was the only thing I had that was the right size/color for the space I needed to fill... plus a small Dear Hunter "Act III" autographed poster in one of my hallways, and a Maiden poster which I put up solely to cover up the circuit breaker box in my hallway.

I've probably got like 20-30 more DT posters just sitting in my closet begging to be used...

Hey Zep!  Yep, that's the I&W poster I was talking about.  Man, I'd cut off my pinky finger for that poster.  So awesome.  I gotta say, there's a lot of odd-zied posters out there.  A few years I decorated by living room with QR/DT/FW posters and to make them fit the frames I had custom-sized mats made to fit the posters inside a 24x36 sized frame.  It's a lot of measuring and extra work, but it ended up lookin cool.

This is the part where I rage at how all bands that I know of have an utterly massive lack of poster merch. I gave up in the end and had to make do with a DSOTM and OK:Computer poster.

Rock/metal magazines are your friend :P Already got two DT posters, two Riverside and one Porcupine Tree from them, so it's an efficient way. Of course they're hardly ever particularly big, but fine for me.

I have literally made about 10 threads about lack of DT posters.

DT needs to stop making all this wierd shit and instead put their album artwork in poster form.

How did you do the album cover collage?
I have zero posters and I'd love to change that. Anyone know where I might be able to find a ToT one without costing me a fortune?

I just bought all the album cover flats and put them in square frames.  The hard part was actually finding all the flats... took quite a while to track down all 9 of them.

Haven't seen too many ToT album art posters out there... I think there may be one "tour" poster floating around with the cover art... but not much more than that.  I'd just keep an eye on ebay...

I have yet to get a Dream Theater poster. I have two Guns 'N' Roses ones, two Metallica, one Pink Floyd, one Pantera, and one Led Zeppelin. I also need a Maiden poster. Oh yeah and I have a Pantera flag which is not currently hung.

Is the record company listed on that horizontal Images and Words Poster pictured above? If it is, I'd be interested in getting one some day.

I've got that Images and Words poster (not folded) that was listed in the ebay link.

I also have a Train Of Thought European tour poster that I might consider selling if the right offer came along.

Most of my posters are stored in poster tubes in the closet too. In a way its kind of sad, but I have been thinning them out a little over the years. There are only certain ones I want to keep now. I had a few Falling Into Infinity promo posters but I sold them off.
