I even heard 'Uprising' in a dance club. People were bouncing to it, awesomeness garanteed!
That's not actually particularly new here. Muse have been pretty stratospherically popular since Absolution in the UK.

That said, I always request Uprising on a night out. Just to be sure.

I'm obviously going to the wrong clubs.

The new single, "Neutron Star Collision (Love Is Forever)," is out.  What does everyone think of it?  I like it.  It isn't knocking my socks off, but I like it.

It didn't make a big impression first time I listened but I quite like it now I've heard it a couple of times.

Its fine.  I've only listened to it like twice.  Like Rob said, it kinda sounds like a mashup of five other Muse songs.

Overall, the song is pretty cheesy, but I don't mind a little cheese in my musical diet.

On the downside, the St. Louis and KC concerts in early November just got canceled.  That blows.  I guess we can expect to be screwed out of the service charge from ticketmaster on our refund, eh?

Matt Bellamy says here that they want to do something more 'down-to-earth and intimate' for the next Muse album.

I guess I'd be okay with that?  Honestly one of the things that made me really like Muse is the "epic" nature of their music, even though "Citizen Erased" is my favorite song and doesn't have much of that feel.  Really, as long as the album doesn't suck at this point I think I'll be okay.

A change of pace seems like what they need. Granted, they're becoming like the most popular band in the world, I really thing there's been a sharp decline over the past three albums.

Absolution and "sharp decline" should not be included in the same sentence.

I can't endorse any chart that puts Showbiz higher than Black Holes and Revelations.  That is just madness.

I really like this album, though I'm still a Muse newb.

Btw, at my job they play a bunch of crap on the radio, old and new songs, a mix of like 20 different genres. They play Undisclosed Desires on it. I heard it at home and thought "I've heard this before..." and went to work and heard it there. Awesome.

Yeah, this album hasn't grown on me at all. Barring maybe three songs, it's just terrible. :sadpanda:

It's good in my book.

'Course, it's criminal for Muse to put out an album that's anything less than great, but nine good Muse songs is still a nice thing to listen to. Just wish it had a little more spirit.

The new single, "Neutron Star Collision (Love Is Forever)," is out.  What does everyone think of it?  I like it.  It isn't knocking my socks off, but I like it.
The lyrics are awful but the music is fun enough. The verses do sound a lot like Knights of Cydonia, though. And the vocal melodies sound a lot like Resistance. Great to blast loud, though.

Muse's lyrics are always awful. :lol I don't think anyone listens to them for the lyrics.

Although going more personal for the next album would be interesting, as it's something they've not done much.

I wouldn't go that far. There was a time when they were at least not noticeably bad.

Looks like they plan to be in studio soon

The Resistance was kind of disappointing so it will be interesting where they go now.

Yeah! I wasn't so struck on The Resistance. I think, after Black Holes broke so much new ground, it was always going to be a little disappointing.

I'm glad we have it, though. Uprising's great, Undisclosed Desires is great, United States is great... actually, everything with a U. I Belong To You is pretty kickin', too. That's the closest they came to writing something completely new and unexpected.

i heard something that their next album was "part 2" of their careers which could suggest a completely different approach in style and writing.

personally i'd be so happy for a mix of showbiz and absolution. the resistance was just ... meh

I don't think BH&R and Reshitstance really compare to earlier stuff; although I don't mind Black Holes and Revelations.

Here's hoping they go back to the Showbiz style (although I highly doubt it, imagine all of the little girls they'd piss off) for their latest.

And I'd vote for The Resistance as the number one worst Muse album track of all time. I do believe I've said this before, though.

Crazy person.
Most of the songs on The Resistance are worse than the title track. Outside of I Belong to You, and Undisclosed Desires, the rest of the album is pretty bad.

Personally, I still find some enjoyment out of MK Ultra, but I can't from the Resistance.

I Belong to You is great, as is Uprising, United States of Eurasia and Unnatural Selection.
Undisclosed Desires, Guiding Light & the Exogenesis stuff is OK.
MK Ultra is getting into bad territory.
Then there's Resistance.

Thats just an opinion though.
