Agora Forte - New Song Posted!
« on: April 18, 2010, 01:52:07 PM »
Hey everyone.  My band, Agora Forte, has just posted a couple of demos.  We've been together for a couple of months and we're still putting material together.  Please give us a listen and let me know what you think:

https://www.myspace.com/agoraforte

The first song, "Pain", is a much shorter and straight-forward song.  "The Last Goodbye" has a few more twists and turns, so I'm interested to see what everyone has to say.  If you like it, feel free to send a friend request.  We're still working on getting the page completed.

Thanks for the positive feedback!  I'm glad you liked the solos.  We decided to switch off solos in that section and I ended up writing mine (the two over the 9/8 sections) the day that we recorded.  Luckily, they came off pretty solid.  Jesse's a great guitarist too and he laid down a great solo and composed the "This burden" part which is real strong too.

Thanks again for checking it out!

Thanks Rafael!  We're working on completing enough material for an album, as we've only been working together for a few months.  I'll definitely keep you posted on any updates or new songs.

New song up, "Walk Around the World".  It's pretty straight forward with a solid groove.  I'd love any feedback that you guys have!  Feedback has been pretty positive so far, but very sporadic.  Thanks to Rafael and sneakyblueberry for the kind words!

Thanks!  We actually did all of the recording on our own.  It took awhile, but saved us a bunch of money and came out really well.  For our guitar tracks, I played an ESP Horizon through a Peavey XXX head and Mesa Rectifier cab.  Our other guitarist has Mark V through a Mesa cab.  They mesh really well together.

I'm really happy that we finally have it all wrapped up.  Cover art is complete.  Now we just have to go through the distribution process.

Wow, its a great sound.  Be interested in hearing the full recording set up if you can be bothered posting it (DAW, outboard gear and all that geeky crap.  Okay if not :lol).  Impressive stuff man, all the best for the rest of the process.

No problem!

For single input (guitars, bass, vocals, and keyboard), we used Shure SM57 & AKG Perception 220 microphones through a DBX 286 Preamp/Processor.  That went into a SoundBlaster Fatality soundcard interface on a PC.  We then used Cubase Studio 4 with Waves Mercury Bundle.

For drums, I'm not sure, as it was done with a bunch of our drummer's equipment.  If you're interested in that too, I can see if I can find out the specifics for you.
