The only fans that have annoyed me are Slipknot fans. Had never even heard of ICP before the miracles meme and the other two fans have never annoyed me (although I have no idea who Ted Nugent is  ).

Mine's the pseudo-eclectic music fan. Y'know, the one who has hundreds of albums and has heard of every band on the planet... but has no idea what he's talking about (or what you're talking about) when you mention a certain song on one of his CDs.

Tool fans are bad too, but in my experience most of the grow out of it.

None on the list have really ever troubled me. There's a different type of fan I totally hate with passion - pretentious, elitist snobs who only listen to jazz and classic progressive rock, and unable to tolerate ANYTHING else, but love to point out how everything else is crap (for some reason metal is usually #1 priority to flame, and whenever I've seen them do so, my brain was near exploding due to extreme overdose of ignorance), with absolute confidence that they're above everything else.

Unfortunately, Porcupine Tree has a fair share of those, the "burn everything released after Signify" group is made in like 95% of them.

I really don't like the Tool fans that think Adam Jones is a phenomenal guitarist and that Maynard is a genius. IMO they're both good-pretty good at what they do and it works damn well for their style but melodically they are about as samey as the White Stripes(not as in sounding like them but as far as being painfully stuck in one style/mood of composing melodies)

Basically that almost every song seems to be thoroughly dominated by that whole D-F-G thing since most-if not all-of their discography is in drop-D and they use the fuck out of the 3rd and 5th frets to the point of near exclusivity when it comes to rhythm guitar.

I'm not sure you have the right band.  The White Stripes do not have a single song in drop D, all the songs are either in standard or open tunings (A and G) for slide playing.

I voted for myself (Tool fan). But I wouldn't say that Adam Jones was even a particularly good guitarist, I accept their music is limited. I still think Maynard is one of, if not the, best in the genre though.

Don't know 'em by name but my singer has all but ruined them for me cuz most songs are always just riffs made of 2 or 3 major chords with little variation whatsoever. I can't recall them ever using a minor chord. I'd have to imagine they have at least once though.
