Unfortunately, I think those days are over now.  Looks like the closest I played to you was Manchester.  That would've been in '97.

20 minutes from my house Cosmo.  I know how you feel.  I now am the master of my own chair.  I'm the Archie Bunker of my era. ;)

BTW, I can't remember if this is posted but I loved this Vinny Vincent song.

Slaughter, with special guest Vinnie Vincent.  :lol

Excellent song.  Mark Slaughter's voice is in awesome form there.  Holy crap!

EDIT:  Also, I didn't realize that Mark Slaughter didn't always have dark hair.

Yea!  And the drummer went on to drum for Nelson.  I Saw Slaughter open up for Kiss on the Hot in the Shade tour and Mark ran into the crowd and he is ONE SMALL DUDE  with a BIG VOICE!

Just saw the new Ratt tune "Best of Me".  Not a bad song at all.  It's kinda catchy.  Also, I hadn't realized that Carlos Cavazo is with the band now.  Killer.

The only real problem with Ratt back in the day was the suck ass singing. Their first two albums had plenty of nice licks.

Well if the studio can't help him, he must be atrocious live. I still can't believe that Bon Jovi opened for them in 1985. I didn't go to that show. Do you remember that tour?

I didn't see that tour.  I first saw Bon Jovi open for the Scorpions on the Love at First Sting Tour in 84 and then Ratt/Poison tour of 87.  Ratt=good, Poison= :tdwn on that tour

June 14th ( my 20th birthday)  I can remember MSG being empty during the entire Bon Jovi set, the lights went out for the Scorpions and when they came back on, not an empty seat in the house.

Happy belated birthday! :D

Bon Jovi put on a great set. I was familiar with Runaway, but I bought their "tape" after going to that show. I'll never forget that version of Get Ready.
That was a great weekend. I saw the Scorps/BJ on Saturday, and the night before the concert, on Friday we went to see This Is Spinal Tap IN THE THEATER!

I got Bon Jovi's album 2 weeks before the show and was happy to hear them play Roulette live.

Just listed to the tune (thanks to some prodding from Cozmo).  Not bad.  My best short explanation:  it's a cookie-cutter Ratt song.  And I don't mean that in a bad way.  Ratt was never a very deep band.  They wrote catchy, upbeat guitar rock songs, did it pretty well, and you either liked them for it or you didn't.  Pearcy never had a great voice, but had a very distinct one.  DeMartini was their axe-slinger, and had a knack for writing very good solos.  The rythm section (second guitar, bass and drums) did their job.  This is a band that really shouldn't stray too far outside their box, and from the sound of this song, they're not trying to.  And that's fine.  It was good to hear some of the classic '80s bands like Tesla and Scorpions update their sound a little bit this last decade with Into The Now and Humanity, Hour 1 (respectively).  They knew what to tweak and incorporate to sound updated without sounding like they were reaching too far.  I think Ratt would have souned foolish if they tried something like that.  Instead, they did what was right up their alley.  And given the long break they've taken from really doing anything new, it doesn't sound stale or rehashed to me.  I haven't been into them for a long time, but I may just pick up the album.  Given that Carlos is also a very competent player, I'm curious to know whether he will bring anything new to the table for them, or if he is just taking a backseat to DeMartini and basically filling Robin Crosby's old role.

I wasn't a huge Ratt fan, but despite that, I did like this song.  And I totally see what you mean about them being better off sticking to what they do.  They're JUST one of those bands that seem best suited to sticking with what you know.

Hadn't heard the first one, but not bad.  I do like Machine Gun. Excellent.

I bought that album in anticipation of seeing them open for Maiden.

Here's a band called Shy. I had this album Excess All Areas. It's AOR metal from the mid/late 80's. I believe Tony Mills now sings for TNT. The first time I heard Circus Maximus, I immedeately thought of Tony Mills.

No new videos to add, but I just want to say that I am halfway thought the new Slash solo album that came out today, and I would highly recommend it.

Wow, after one spin, it's hard to say.  There are a lot of good performances and a lot of talent.  I will say Fergie was an unexpected surprise.   I thought she was great.  But as of right now, I can't pick a favorite.

Very interesting.  Something about that main riff sounds familiar.  I think what I'm hearing is a similarity to Vandenberg's "Burning Heart".  Think about it.  Not close to the same, but a very similar feel.

Great solos.  Especially impressive is watching him shred in the second one, eyes closed, not even looking at the guitar, but still staying in key and ending on a solid note choice.  Is that the Bonnie Raitt Strat he's playing on those?
