What would I need to make electronic music?

I've really been wanting to do some electronic stuff, but I don't know what equipment or software I would need.


I know one thing I would need would be a midi controller. I have a large 88 key electric piano with midi in and out, so I should be able to use that, even if the weighted keys might oppose me somewhat.

I honestly have no idea. Some kind of sequencing software would probably help a lot, but I don't know what available as far as that goes.

I used to make my electronic music with programs like Fruity Loops and Reason. I know there are other sequencing programs out there as well.

I recommend Fruity Loops XXL 7 (something like that name, and it's also called FL Studio) ... some people think FL Studio is just for making beats, but you can do so much more with it when you mess around with its features. A program like Reason is more formal and sophisticated, and I would think more professional sound people would use that over FL Studio.

I recommend Reason 4 and a MIDI controller, such as M-Audio Keystudio
