I saw them mentioned one time earlier in this thread:

'And So I Watch You From Afar'

These guys are absolutely incredible. They're post-rock, but definately heavier and more 'busy'.

The opening track to their s/t is called 'Set Guitars to Kill' and is the most adrenaline-rushing song I've heard all year. Discovery of 2010 for me.
Not 'Down To F***', but 'Dream Theater Forums' .

I also have a straight post-rock band if anyone knows of them.
They are called Jakob and they are from New Zealand

This is there album called "Solace". Check out this track https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFAQa3HlYYw

This album rules so much. Everything All Of The Time is fucking awesome.

Anyone listen to This Will Destroy You? They're playing a show on campus next month, but I've never heard anything from them, and have no idea if they're good or just another boring post rock band.

I think they are pretty good. Saw them as opener for God Is An Astronaut. Their show is pretty boring (only the guitarist moves) but they are pretty good.

An accurate representation of the amount of movement at a post-rock concert.

Well that's a helpful consensus  :P I'll probably go just cause it's only five bucks, so if I like what I hear I'll grab an album at the merch stand.

My friend let me listen to this French Post-Rock band named Kwoon. Can't say I liked it since I dislike the genre in general, but they might sound interesting to you.

I think This Will Destroy You is one of the standouts in the genre.

And before I say anything else, I must emphasize how much I hate this genre name. I hate it a lot.

At the moment my favorite post rock band is The Unwinding Hours. It's like the perfect blend of indie and post rockiness.

It doesn't bother me. Sure it's non-sensical, but it's really no less descriptive of the overall sound then something like progressive metal.

Also LISTEN TO GREGOR SAMSA GODDAMMIT THEY'RE AMAZING 55:12 IS THE BEST POST ROCK ALBUM EVAR

New in my post-rock collection:

Mono - Holy Ground/NYC Live (With the Wordless music Orchestra)

The CD is great, haven't really watched the dvd, but what I did see was that the images were really dark.

The venue was tiny but they were so heavy. At one point the bassist told the sound guy to turn up the bass and I thought he was gonna tell him to fuck off.

A friend of mine from Northern Ireland (where the band are from) gave me this album in May, and I'm just listening to it for the first time.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW

EDIT: Goddamn, this album singlehandedly renders Mastodon an obsolete band. It has all the brutal Mastodon sludgy ferocity, but with a touch of post rock beauty, and most importantly, no godawful lyrics and vocals.

If you say so. This band does almost all of the things I love about Mastodon and none of the things I hate about them. I could now effectively forget Mastodon altogether and just listen to these guys.

I just really don't hear much similarity between the two bands. ASIWUFA is far closer to something like Russian Circles or hell even Cult of Luna or Isis than they are to Mastodon. It's like saying DT does proggy metal sections without growls so they're a substitute for Opeth.

But whatever works I guess.

The GY!BE gig in my home town got sold out before I could snatch a ticket...
Feel my pain.  :'(

On a related note, I've recently been getting into God Is An Astronaut, and these guys rule! Must get their new album now...
Surely one day they'll work out it would be simpler and far more legal just to suckle on each others' teats in a kind of wonderful 69 of eternal calcium goodness.
