There ain't really any legit need to get fussy about a toy made for the 4-6 year old crowd.

Sorry, man, but I care.  The plural of Lego is Lego.  It's a proper noun, so they make the rules.

The DT mini-figs are great, though.  :tup

Fun Fact: The word 'LEGO', when used as a noun, should only refer to the company that makes the product. Otherwise 'LEGO' is supposed to be used as an adjective. Thus, when referring to the pieces, neither 'lego' nor 'legos' is correct... rather one should say: 'LEGO bricks' or 'LEGO pieces' or whatever (using LEGO as an adjective -- and one should really capitalize all of the letters, and put the little 'circle-R' symbol after it (®)). This is all a matter of protecting the trademark of 'LEGO' for the company (using it otherwise degenerates the strength of the trademark).

okay, everybody xerox this memo and get the word out! :neverusethis:

anyway, nice job OP. cool stuff.

This. Though I've never heard the expression "legos" before, must be a silly American thing. :P

Hmmmm...being that James Labrie's head is naturally square, lego seems a good fit for him.

Definitely a silly American thing.  We tend to fuck up pluralizations by just applying the most common rule, but then we also seem to have the most rules and exceptions of any language.

If you make something out of Lego bricks, the Fun Fact says you should always say "Lego bricks" or "Lego pieces".  I always figured you could say you made it "out of Lego" because you're referring to Lego as the medium, the same way you could make something out of clay or out of wood.  But you can't say you made it "out of Legos" because each piece is not "a Lego".  You wouldn't say you had "a clay" and found "another clay" in a drawer and therefore had enough "clays" to make the model.  You had some clay, and found some more clay.  Same with Lego.  It's made of Lego, not made of "Legos".

Don't care.  It's always been "legos" in my house and among everyone I've ever known.  Even if it's not technically correct (which I admit it isn't), it is a widely accepted usage.

In my book, correctness is defined by usage.  (i.e., if the majority of people use "legos", then "legos" is correct.  =)
