Nice, Snap! Good gal you got there.
I'm getting my girl into Attack on Titan. She's into really gory movies and shows (just got into Dexter and is absolutely obsessed...it's actually kinda annoying how much she talks about..er...forgot the actor's name, but 'Dexter' himself) so I'm thinking she'll get into it eventually, she's having a hard time getting past the whole "ANIMATION IS FOR KIDS" thing, which really annoys me since she loves stuff like Rio and Finding Nemo. Anyway, I'll break her ignorance once she sees the brutality of the titans...MUUUUAHAHAHAHA! She got me a really awesome Levi poster since she knows I'm addicted to it so that's really awesome, and she's learning the characters and such.
Anyway, I concur on the Samurai Champloo viewing; if you like Bebop, there's no way you won't get into Champloo unless you're some kind of samurai hater. It's based more in Japanese mythology than Bebop, but it's very, very much the same style, vibe, and general feel. The music is also the absolutely best soundtrack that any anime can offer and I'm actually listening to it right now, and often do most days. Very chill, very entertaining, and yet so deep in it's inception and purpose. Wonderful ride.
I'm getting into Kill La Kill and I'm loving it. Other than that, I'm still really into my manga and not so much into most anime. Crunchyroll has a wonderful selection now, but I'm still not so much into the anime as I used to be. A lot of it seems...shallow. There's a few that intrigue me but the stories tend to fall flat after a while. I suppose me growing up as a manga addict is a hard habit to break. I really like my anime, but they are few and far between, especially since the ones based on manga are mostly complete shit. I find that the Bebop/Champloo ones (and/or standalone anime) are the ones that I flock to.
