Really excited for next season. Diamond is Unbreakable and Ace Attorney continue, Berserk, Rewrite, not one but TWO Danganronpa animes.

Edit: Also I was so into Hero Academia that I am now fully caught up on the manga  :lol

It looks as though my decision not to bother with the new Berserk adaptation is a good one. The above image is apparently one of the better looking shots from the first episode. I've heard that the story was butchered as well, but there's no need to find out for myself.  :lol

In other news, I have a new favorite JoJo's side character.

WHEN DOES HIATUS X HIATUS COME BACK

Give it 9 months. We'll have another 12 chapters.

The guy should just write the story and let someone else draw.

Though I would like to see resolution to some of HxH's numerous hanging sideplots, the overall resolution of the anime was satisfying enough that I'm happy to pretend that everything after the Hunter Election arc doesn't exist.

Apparently having finished the common route was not enough to avoid having things spoiled in the first goddamn episode.

One episode in, and I already like Mob Psycho 100 a lot more than I ever liked One Punch Man.

Aside from that and Orange, the only show I've already dropped, my expectations of this season have been surprisingly accurate. Let's see how much that changes by the end of the Summer.  :lol

Farnese has the unique genetic mutation of being born with no nipples.

Also Danganronpa 3 is much better than the original Danganronpa anime so far, and since it's not an adaptation I don't have to be worried about getting pissed off.

Looking forward to Despair-side when it starts later this werk too.

Hm, i read that manga because it was short, very praised and i thought the synopsis was very interesting too. Ended up it didn't resonate with me not even a bit  :-\

I actually read the first chapter a few weeks back. It utterly failed to sell me on the characters and their interactions, which are arguably the most important part of a drama such as Orange. There is a scene where the characters are walking home and delivering what is supposed to be banter. I say "supposed", as it fell entirely flat. At the time, I hoped that voice acting, music, and animation would bring the scene to life, but it was just as boring in the anime adaptation. I guess the staff decided to stay true to the source.  :lol

Time to start Aria! I usually try to enter each show I watch with the same, moderately low, expectations, but have high hopes for this one. It's generally considered to be one of the best examples of my favorite genre, and I am curious to see if it lives up to its reputation.

Six weeks and 54 episodes later, and I'm done. I don't want to go into specifics, but it more than lived up to its reputation. In fact, I highly doubt that another Slice of Life will ever be able to surpass it. Everything - the characters, their interactions, their growth, the atmosphere, the setting, the soundtrack, the overall sound design, the voice acting, the art (especially the gorgeous water and detailed backgrounds), the themes, and especially the ending... it was all on point. Other SoL titles did some of these aspects better, but none have executed all of them so well.

Aria has usurped the position of my favorite Slice of Life from So Ra No Wo To, and is a contender for my favorite anime of all time. I cannot praise it enough.

Ooh the second Danganronpa is even more interesting than the first.

No point watching it if you haven't played both games (not even watching the first anime will get you what you need to know) but damn if you have and liked it you will be into it.

On a side note, play Danganronpa. Both of em. You can skip Ultra Despair Girls.

Yeah, the characters were the main problem for me too.

I say "supposed", as it fell entirely flat.

It felt flat for me too. I never cared about any of the characters at all.

What's wrong with Orange? I'm loving it! That and Sweetness & Lightning are my top 2 shows the season, hands down.

Also - finally started to see what all the fuss is with Re:Zero. It doesn't start great IMO but gets really strong a few more episodes in. Still need to catch up to where the show is currently at.

Finally - what's with people hating on the new Beserk? I really enjoy it a lot so far.

S&L is the one show I've been hesitant on trying. I dislike children in real life, and anime is no different.

Even now, my feelings are mixed. The most recent episode, 16, was arguably the best one yet. Last week's was impossible to take seriously. Re:Zero has gotten better over its run, but I still wouldn't call it "great".

If you don't like children I wouldn't bother, but this is at least pretty realistic.

Well, Tsumugi isn't nearly as annoying as any of the children from Barakamon. This is a good sign.

It took almost two years of on and off watching, but I finally finished LoGH. I can finally justify my Yang Wenli avatar.  :lol

I wouldn't call the show itself one of my all time favorites (the space battles were never all that interesting, and the quality of the writing took a small hit in the last arc), but there are several characters among my favorites and numerous memorable moments. It also fully justifies its epic length. There are so many ideas and events packed into each episode, almost to the point that I wished it slowed down.

4 episodes into sweetness and lightning. It's good, but I feel like it's time for the plot to go somewhere. Feel like there is something greater for this show to get into, it just hasn't happened yet.

Same here. I'm not sure how much longer this show can hold my attention by following a similar structure each episode. It's been enjoyable so far, but most of that comes from the cooking scenes and Inuzuka's character. The character relationships can go in many interesting directions, and I hope S&L begins exploring them soon.

As someone who's a fan of Rooster Teeth's anime-esque online series, RWBY, I've actually really taken a liking to Tsumugi in Sweetness & Lightning. She's like a kid version of Yang, which is amazing.

BTW, speaking of RWBY, I gotta say this for anyone who bothers to check it out: The first season is pretty generic. Season two starts to improve things, but kinda ends on the wrong note imo. But if you stick with it to Season Three, you will be rewarded for your patience.

***Spoilers***

Could Subaru really have run away with Rem? Given his luck, I totally doubt it. Something awful is going to happen to him no matter which direction he goes in... I can just feel it.

Agreed. I haven't seen a 20 minute conversation in a single setting done so well outside of Monogatari, though this one relied more on cool directorial touches than surreal imagery. I'm still iffy on the show as a whole, but segments like this make it worthwhile.

As for your spoiler, Subaru would have been fucked either way. His connection to Satella seems to get stronger with every reset.

Read the rest of the Orange manga in a bookstore.

Still gonna watch the show, but a bit disappointed that some of the more interesting plotlines never get explored. Still a great story though.

More Re:Zero spoilers...

Loved the last episode for the most part, but is anyone else getting slightly annoyed by how little agency Rem displays? She's just perfect to Subaru in every way, almost seemingly like she exists to serve him. Something's gotta give there, right?

Is anybody else watching the Brotherhood FFXV series? While probably not a great show in its own right, I do like it for the purpose it serves.
