It's been almost 4 weeks since I've ridden. I haven't gone this long without riding before. I don't see myself riding within the next two weeks until this snow melts. I'm getting a little worried about the gas in my gas tank :(

RE : Electric motorbikes.

As long as they were fast - and looked cool as hell - like futuristic and stuff - i would have ZERO problems riding one.

I just wonder what would be the 125 cc equivalent for L plates etc ...

I think you'll be fine, I've had gas sit in my bike for 4 months and it started and ran fine.

Man, I got to ride the Harley Livewire once and I was ready to buy it right there on the spot. Getting to experience it first hand made me a believer.

Same with me. It was a little hesitant, but it started up ok.

This is an interesting thing with electric bikes. As they become more popular, perhaps they could make models where the performance aspects are unlocked based on licensing requirements over there. I mean unlocked by the dealership. I don't know how feasible that is but these bikes could become the ultimate bikes to grow into.

If Petrol is ever over with - and it's electric vehicles from here on out - i'd get an electric bike easily.

I saw a youTube video on them and they have the same performance as petrol bikes.

If there was a decent 125 cc equivalent that looked really snazzy - i'd get one 100%

:)

Only problem would be maintenance - since my Dad has had bikes his whole life - so any problem - he usually knows what to do

- or he gets his mechanic friend to do it ( who super conveniently lives on his drive ! ) .

So i've never had to take my bike to a garage and for them to go " weeeeeeellllllllllll.........."

...But an electric bike ? We'd all be in the dark.

The biggest mistake new riders make is getting too much bike as their first ride. The other mistake is having the "watch this" attitude.  :loser:

6'3" 200 lbs.

Just reading the thread from the beginning. I'm 5'7" and around 165lbs  :D

Probably why I don't get tired on long rides.

My bike fucking fell over a couple days ago. The pavement cracked, the kickstand sunk in, and the bike tipped over. I think it was a somewhat gradual tip over...I think the bike had been sinking into the pavement for a while and it was leaning up against a leetle snow mountain. When that mountain melted, I think that's when the bike fell over.

After picking the bike up with some help (there was snow all over the ground and I didn't want to attempt picking it up meself), I smelled gas. There was some leaking but I don't know from where. My tank was filled up and I've read a gas leak is normal when a bike falls over and the tank is more than half filled.

Hope it's not broken !!  I've broken a couple of clutch levers from it going over.

One time I was had finished work and it was a baking hot day in summer and i was all excited to go to the beach and I pulled my clutch to start it up - and the cable snapped.

:emo: no beach for me.

Always a pain when things like that happen - cause then you can't do anything or go anywhere til a new one arrives and you fit it.

I rode my bike today. It felt fine. It's not leaking gas. Looks like nothing was damaged.

Excellent news !!!

Related - I parked in the supermarket last week and when I got back to my bike it was on its side. :emo:

Luckily the only damage was the mirror mount which snapped off - the mirror and arm were fine.

Clutch lever also unscathed. On my Yamaha SR - if it ever fell over - either the brake or clutch level would snap off.

Guess my Zontes is built to last. Headlight cowl scuffed too . Oh well. i've had the bike 4 years and it's done 60,000 KM - it's done well. :)

Oh damn, you were in Philly? if you ever around the area again and want to meet up, message me.

For the next bike I am really interested in the Damon electric bike:

200 mile range, 200 hp and 200 mph. And it has an adjustable riding position as well. No mirrors since it has an always on rear camera.

Either that or the Street Triple is catching my eye as well.

:o  Man that is a sexy Tron-esque bike.

It's not happened to my current bike. My old Yamaha SR125 would go over quite easily. I broke a few clutch levers .

But my side stand is a bit worn now so maybe it was wind or someone knocked it.

I'll put it on the centre stand from now on I think.

No biggie. I just drove around with only one mirror for a bit :) Bike is fine otherwise.

Dad ordered a new part so now I have a spare clutch lever.

Jobs a good 'un !

Because I bought my 2017 Zontes Tiger outright brand new from a showroom - I got to choose from a list of number plates for it ( license plate )

So I chose the one with an X in it ! :p

My motorcycle is still registered in Florida with Florida plates so it's due in September, my car is due in August I believe. It was easy in Florida because your registration expired on your birthday :lol

I don't know how it works in the US and A...

The UK stopped requiring visible tax discs a few years back and it's all done online now. I know everyone says the DMV is pure hell - which is why i'm glad I can do it online

and it takes MINUTES.

I get super stressed about taking out insurance on my bike as contract is ultra confusing. I had a panic a few years back as I signed up for Insurance which was

- lets say £150 ( i pay monthly ). And on the contract - it was written in such a way that it looked like i'd be paying £150 a month.

And of course I read that at closing time on a Friday so had to fret about it all weekend til i could phone them up on the Monday and have them clarify it.

...

This year i'm just letting my current insurance auto-renew instead of going through all that sh*t again.

It varies state by state, but luckily mine doesn't require visible tags, so I just keep my paperwork in my pocket and I'm set. Everything can be renewed online as well

On the once in a blue moon occasion I get pulled over - they can check all my deets there and then. I just need to show them my

Provisional License card and they check that and the Number ( license ) plate with their database.

Just went out for a cruise. Did about 12 miles.

It's VERY windy - so driving with the wind I got up to abut 80mph. Against the wind 60mph tops.  ;D

Still a bitter wind though being March. Can't wait for it to be hot. Riding in the sunshine with the warm air = bliss.

Just curious, what temperature is considered hot in your part of the world?
