Anyone Else Notice This?
« on: March 22, 2010, 06:27:32 PM »
Maybe i'm just slower than the average DT fan, but earlier today i noticed that the beginning note of As I Am (first track of TOT) is a continuation [or a reverse of] the final note in Losing Time.  :eek
If you play the two albums back to back it sounds awesome how it like fades out and then back in.

Yeah, when i found that out I was like "thatīs THE BAND"! Well, I donīt know if you notice this but Finally Free ends with the static sound that begins Glass Prison in SDOIT. In the same way, the first note of Root Of All evil is the last note of Octavarium and the list actually goes on. Many cool tricks  :)

I felt its length in quite a few places.

The last note in ITNOG is the same as the beginning of TRoaE.

If you look at the album runs it makes sense:

SDOIT - 6th album, 6 tracks
ToT - 7th album, 7 tracks
8VM - 8th album, 8 tracks

Each with notes leading into the next. The trend ended with SC, but it was still pretty cool.

The Shaterred Fortress has the some of the same lyrics in The Glass Prison, This Dying Soul, The Root of All Evil and Repentance...

Sounds like is just one big song!!

If this thread was started as trolling then I take back the remainder of this post.

Even though this is obviously light-hearted jesting it still bothers me a tad that it seems obligatory to get all sarcastic at new members for posting stuff that is common knowledge to more-established DT fans.

If anyone checked ScioPath's profile they'd see he's only 14. This means he'd have been only 7 or 8 when ToT came out so unless any of you were already into DT when you were in second grade you might just wanna take it easy and resist the urge to belittle.

When I discovered crazy DT stuff I searched the web for answers thru Wikipedia and such before asking about it on DT.net of DTF.com. Seems no one knows how to do that these days.

Well yeah that makes since but you make it sound like someone's foolish for discussing a band on a forum devoted to that band.

Not that I'm calling anyone foolish but if you just got into DT and noticed that the same static that ends Finally Free is what begins The Glass Prison, wouldn't you think something is up and maybe it's supposed to be that way? I know this wasn't the original example but my point still stands. I was lucky enough to read an explination on DTF.com about Pull Me Under but before that I faded out the song because the torrent I used said it was corrupted and cut off. I don't know, asking a well established forum if they noticed something about a song is kinda asking for sarcasm.

How would someone who just joined know how established this place is? Also, like I said before, the dude's 14. You are 24. Just try to keep that in mind since not everyone's forum savvy and unintentional pompousity can needlessly chase off DT fans who may have otherwise hung around for years. We should all be less concerned with semantics and more concerned with creating a friendly environment since this is a place we all come to enjoy our free time and not some uppity Ivy League institution.

Ok but no one insulted the kid. No one seemed asshole-ish either. This isn't 5/8. We don't insult for no reason. We don't insult at all really and those that do are the ones that don't last very long.

OK, it's War God. Just though I'd point that out.
Because God War doesn't make sense.

I believe that Pull Me Under is written that way. Seeing as the live versions also stop like that before the applause. Or maybe it was a mistake on I&W, but they didn't correct it in order to preserve the integrity of their only award winning song (?).  :P
